摘要： A system and method for determining a fault condition in a compressor is provided. The current of a motor drive powering the compressor and the outdoor ambient temperature are measured and used to determine if a fault condition or a potential fault condition is present in the compressor. If a fault condition is determined to be present, the compressor can be shutdown to avoid damage to the compressor. If a potential fault condition is determined, remedial action can be taken to attempt to prevent the fault condition from occurring and shutting down the compressor.

摘要： A system and method for starting a compressor is provided. An amount of liquid refrigerant that is located in an oil sump of the compressor is determined. Using the determined amount of liquid refrigerant, a starting algorithm for the compressor is selected. The selected starting algorithm is configured to remove the determined amount of liquid refrigerant from the oil sump before the compressor reaches a preselected operating speed. The selected starting algorithm is then executed to start the compressor.

摘要： A system and method is provided for controlling the speed of the compressor to ensure adequate lubrication oil is provided to the components of the compressor. During operation of a capacity control program for the compressor, a preselected operating parameter of the compressor or motor drive is measured. The measured preselected operating parameter is compared to a preselected range for the operating parameter. If the measured preselected operating parameter is not within the preselected range, the output frequency of the capacity control program can be increased to provide proper lubrication for the components of the compressor.

摘要： An automatic self-modulation capacity compressor for an HVAC&R system is disclosed. The system includes a housing, a compressor, a motor, and a pressure sensitive control valve. The HVAC&R system further comprises an expander and a condenser. In the open position, the control valve permits a portion of the pressurized gasses from the compressor to escape, creating a partial capacity compressor within the system. Once a predetermined set point pressure differential is met, the control valve moves to the closed position, where all of the pressurized gasses within the compressor are provided to the system, thereby creating a full capacity compressor. Once the compressor is operating in full capacity, the compressor remains in full capacity mode until the demands of the system are met and the compressor shuts down. Upon restart, the compressor operates in partial capacity until the predetermined set point pressure is met once again and the compressor begins operating in full capacity.

摘要： A hand-held corded vacuum cleaner having a housing with a motor compartment containing a motor mounted on partitions defining inlet, cooling and outlet chambers for efficient motor cooling by air which enters inlet and exits outlet vents in the inlet and outlet chambers, respectively. A dirt channel extends from a fan chamber having a fan mounted by being swaged on a motor shaft. A nozzle chamber is disposed at one end of the housing and a bag assembly is removably detached from the rear of the housing by means of a collar having a side hole through which a detent extends and which may be depressed to remove the bag assembly. The nozzle is in communication with the fan chamber and the fan pushes dirt through a dirt channel over the motor compartment into the bag of the bag assembly. The motor shaft has a pulley at the end thereof which is connected to a brush which is releasably retained in the nozzle compartment. A belt extends around the brush and the pulley. A door provides access to the belt and has a post which is coaxial with the motor shaft and extends into the immediate proximity of the end thereof to prevent the belt from meandering off the shaft. A well in the belly of the housing and a cooperating well defined between projections on the handle provide a receptacle for the line cord when it is wound around the housing and handle.
