摘要： The present invention relates to compositions and methods for inhibiting and reversing nonenzymatic cross-linking (protein aging). Accordingly, compositions are disclosed which comprise an agent capable of inhibiting the formation of advanced glycosylation endproducts of target proteins, and which additionally reverse pre-formed crosslinks in the advanced glycosylation endproducts by cleaving alpha-dicarbonyl-based protein crosslinks present in the advanced glycosylation endproducts. Certain useful agents are thiazolium salts. The method comprises contacting the target protein with the composition. Both industrial and therapeutic applications for the invention are envisioned, as food spoilage and animal protein aging can be treated. A novel immunoassay for detection of the reversal of the nonenzymatic crosslinking is also disclosed.

摘要： A system and method for scanning a personal computer system and making a specific hardware upgrade recommendation is provided. One aspect of this disclosure relates to a method for a client initiated scan and memory upgrade recommendation. According to an embodiment, a user of a personal computer systems is allowed to download a scanner application using a web browser on the user's personal computer system. Scan data is read from the user's personal computer system using the scanner application. The scan data is formatted, encrypted, and returned to the hosting web server. The returned scan data is processed using a recommendation engine and a computer memory upgrade recommendation is outputted to the user's browser. In various embodiments, the recommendation is on a web page displayed on the user's computer system. Other aspects and embodiments are provided herein.

摘要： An impactor/extractor holder for a femoral trial and/or a knee implant to hold and guide those items onto the resected end of a femur. The impactor/extractor holder comprises two opposed clamping arms for gripping the opposite outer edges of the trial and/or implant, and an abutment table movable relative to the clamping arms so as to be capable of being advanced against the outer surface of the trial and/or implant after the sides have been clamped by the clamping jaws. The abutment table has a cushioning surface for contacting the trial and/or implant which is adapted not to damage the outer surface of the implant or trail. A threaded mechanism is provided for moving the abutment table relative to the clamping jaws to advance the cushioning surface of the abutment table against the outer surface of the implant or the trial to securely and rigidly lock the trial or implant on the impactor/extractor holder. A trial rasp is also disclosed.
