Heterogeneous affinity propagation is used to together identify both visual and textual exemplars. The heterogeneous affinity propagation finds the exemplars for relational heterogeneous data (e.g., images and words) by considering the relationships (e.g., similarities) within pairs of images, pairs of words, and relationships of words to images (affinity) in an integrated manner.

A user query including at least one of textual data or image data from a collection of data displayed by a computing device is received from a user. At least one other subset of data selected from the collection of data is received as contextual information that is related to and different from the user query. Data files such as image files are retrieved and ranked based on the user query to provide a pre-ranked set of data files. The pre-ranked data files are then ranked based on the contextual information to provide a re-ranked set of data files to be displayed to the user.

摘要： The concept-structured image search technique described herein pertains to a technique for enabling a user to indicate their semantic intention and then retrieve and rank images from a database or other image set according to this intention. The concept-structured image search technique described herein includes a new interface for image search. With this interface, a user can freely type several key textual words in arbitrary positions on a blank image, and also describe a region for each keyword that indicates its influence scope, which is called concept structure herein. The concept-structured image search technique will return and rank images that are in accordance with the concept structure indicated by the user. One embodiment of the technique can be used to create a synthesized image without actually using the synthesized image to perform a search of an image set.

An encoder of a wireless device may receive a transport block (TB) for transmission and segment the transport block into a set of multiple, smaller data segments that respectively In correspond to a plurality of code blocks of the TB. The encoder may generate a code block level (CB-level) error detection code (EDC) for a subset of the data segments. The encoder may generate a transport block-level (TB-level) EDC for the TB using the data segments. Each of the code blocks (CBs) may be of the same size and may include one of the data segments. A subset of the CBs may include a data segment from the subset of the data segments and one of the CB-level EDCs. The remaining CBs that are not part of the subset may include a remaining data segments and the TB-level EDC.

摘要： A transmitting device may identify a set of bit locations of a polar code for encoding an input vector based at least in part on a reliability order of the bit locations, where the input vector includes a set of payload bits. The transmitting device may map bits of the input vector to respective bit locations of the identified set of bit locations and may apply a masking operation to a subset of bits of the input vector that is mapped to a most reliable subset of the set of bit locations. The transmitting device may perform an encoding operation according to the mapped input vector to generate a codeword for transmission. A receiving device may perform complementary operations to obtain the payload bits of the input vector. Based on the described techniques, a false alarm rate for the receiving device may be suppressed.

A transmitting device, such as a base station or a user equipment (UE), may generate a first set of encoded bits using a polar code. The transmitting device may transmit the first set of encoded bits to a receiving device, but the receiving device may unsuccessfully receive the transmission. The transmitting device may prepare a retransmission by generating a second set of encoded bits. In some cases, the transmitting device may copy information bits from the first transmission to polarized channels when generating the polar code for the retransmission. The transmitting device may copy information bits based on how the information bits were assigned for the first transmission as well as the block length. The transmitting device may copy information bits such that the retransmission is self-decodable.

Some wireless communications systems may support hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) schemes to improve the likelihood that information is received correctly over a wireless communications link. In HARQ, when a transmitting device determines that a receiving device failed to successfully decode a transmission of information, the transmitting device may retransmit the information to the receiving device. In some cases, HARQ techniques may be used for communications associated with different types of services. In such cases, to keep the latency of communications within a latency budget for a particular type of service, wireless devices may utilize the techniques described herein to dynamically terminate HARQ retransmissions. For instance, a transmitting device may avoid retransmitting information when an amount of time that has elapsed since an original transmission of the information has exceeded the latency budget.
