    • A method and apparatus is provided for implementing initial network entry procedures by a Femto access point which is required to be authenticated by the WiMAX network prior to becoming active and operational. The method includes implementing a DNS query to discover an associated server and gateway in an associated Femto network service provider domain and obtaining an IP address for the server and an IP address for the gateway. The method also includes authenticating the Femto access point with the associated Femto network service provider and establishing a secure IP tunnel between the Femto access point and the gateway. The method further includes interacting with a default self organizing network server to perform location authorization, wherein the self organizing network server is configured to auto configured the Femto access point with preliminary radio parameters. The method also includes executing registration with a Femto gateway. The apparatus includes associated components for implementing the method described above.

    • The present invention provides a method for processing handoff confirm messages. The method includes the following steps: step S102, a serving base station receives a handoff indication message which is from a terminal, and determines the content of the field of the HO confirm type in the handoff confirm message which is to be transferred; and step S104, the serving base station determines whether the service flow information or terminal identifiers are included or not when the handoff confirm messages are transferred to multiple target base stations or target ASNs according to the field of the HO confirm type. The method for processing handoff confirm messages makes handoff among different branches according to different contents in the same controlling procedure, the redundant messages are reduced, and the transmission efficiency of link controlling information and the processing efficiency of the receiving end are improved effectively.

The sending method comprises: a sender informing a receiver of multi-base station MBS wireless resource occupation situation through a message carrying multi-base station MBS wireless resource occupation information; content of the occupation information including a sending frame offset field, an index field and a resource unit quantity field; and the occupation information including configuration information and a scheduling result. When supporting the macro diversity multi-base station MBS, the present invention not only can avoid the conflict of unicast and MBS scheduling, but also can fully utilize the limited wireless resources of the system.
