摘要： A display panel includes an opposite substrate and an array substrate, the array substrate includes a first base substrate, a plurality of pixels and a color filter. The opposite substrate includes a second base substrate, a first black matrix and a second black matrix. The first black matrix maintains an interval between the second base substrate and the array substrate, and the first black matrix is formed to correspond to a display area to block light. The second black matrix includes a first area and a second area. The first area surrounds the color filter and the second area surrounds the first area. The second area includes a height different from a height of the first area when viewed in a plan view.

摘要： A touch screen display apparatus includes a first substrate including a pixel electrode and a lower sensor electrode, a second substrate facing the first substrate and including a common electrode and an upper sensor electrode facing the lower sensor electrode, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the substrates, a first alignment layer disposed on the pixel electrode and the common electrode, a second alignment layer disposed on the lower sensor electrode, and a third alignment layer disposed on the upper sensor electrode. The second or third alignment layers aligns the liquid crystal layer in a different direction from a direction the first alignment layer aligns the liquid crystal layer. When pressure is applied onto a point on the first or second substrate, a distance and a capacitance between the lower sensor electrode and the upper sensor electrode at the point are changed to detect a position of the point.

摘要： A liquid crystal display (LCD) with a direction control electrode and a pixel electrode forming a capacitance in a pixel regions is disclosed. Gate lines are formed on the first substrate and extending in the first direction. Data lines are intersecting the gate lines and each data line has a bent shape. Pixel regions are defined by the intersecting of the gate lines and the data lines. The direction control electrode is formed at the corresponding pixel region and electrically connected to the corresponding data line. The pixel electrode is formed at the corresponding pixel region and has a shape conformal to the corresponding pixel region. By adjusting the capacitance between the direction control electrode and the pixel electrode, liquid crystal stability is enhanced.
