    • A plasma display panel includes first and second substrates opposite each other, address electrodes on the first substrate in a first direction, barrier ribs between the first and second substrates to partition discharge cells, phosphor layers in the discharge cells, and first and second electrodes on the second substrate and extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction and alternately arranged in the first direction. Each of the first and second electrodes includes a bus electrode extending in the second direction, and an extension electrode that protrudes from the bus electrode in the first direction towards a corresponding discharge cell. Each bus electrode includes at least two bus electrode portions that are electrically connected to each other and that are separated from each other by a predetermined gap.

    • A plasma display panel may have an enhanced luminescence efficiency and a reduced discharge voltage under an opposed discharge scheme. The disclosed plasma display panel device includes a first substrate and a second substrate disposed apart from each other, the first substrate have a substantially planar surface facing away from the second substrate. The device further includes a plurality of address electrodes extending along a first direction and a plurality of partitioning walls located between the first and second substrates defining a plurality of discharge cells. The partitioning walls include a first partitioning wall and a second partitioning wall both extending generally along a second direction. The device further includes a phosphor layer formed on a surface of the plurality of discharge cells, a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode extends generally along the second direction and buried in the first partitioning wall, and is located at a first distance from the substantially planar surface. The second electrode extends generally along the second direction and buried in the second partitioning wall, and is located at a second distance from the substantially planar surface. The second distance is greater than the first distance.

The plasma display panel device includes first and second substrates that are disposed to face each other, barrier ribs disposed between the first and second substrates so as to partition a plurality of discharge cells, and phosphor layers that are formed in the discharge cells. The device further includes address electrodes extending in a first direction, first and second electrodes extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction, and third (scan) electrodes, each of which is disposed between and at constant intervals from the first and second electrodes. At least one of the first, second and third electrodes has an edge line extending oblique to the first direction.
