摘要： This invention relates to a liquid crystal display panel adapted to minimize movement of a spacer, and a fabricating method thereof. A liquid crystal display panel according to an embodiment of the invention includes a black matrix formed on a first substrate and formed in a boundary between pixel areas for dividing the pixel areas; red, green, and blue color filters formed at the divided pixel areas; at least two holes adjacent to each other on the black matrix; at least one dam dividing the adjacent holes; and a spacer restricted within at least one of the at least two holes.

摘要： A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and its fabrication method are disclosed. Specifically, a fabrication method in which polyhedral spacers are implemented on a substrate through an ink jet method are used for an LCD device. The spacers have the polyhedral shape to increase their contact area with two substrates, and include a surface processed layer for strengthening a bonding force in its bonding with an alignment film formed on the two substrates. The spacers have a polyhedral shape for maintaining the cell gap between the substrates.

摘要： A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display includes aligning a mask on a substrate, applying surface treatment to the substrate using light that has passed through the mask, forming a spacer pattern at the surface treated area, and forming a spacer by hardening the spacer pattern. Surface treatment is applied to the area where a spacer is to be formed by an ion beam, ultraviolet radiation or a laser beam. By forming the spacer at the surface treated area using an ink jet, it is possible to control the shape and height of the spacer. Also, since the ink jet is located at the surface treated area, it become easier to align the ink jet to accurately form the spacer at the desired place.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a substrate of an LCD prevents defective patterning of pixel electrodes and improves an aperture ratio of pixels by simplifying the steps of manufacturing a substrate of an LCD. A protection layer is formed on a substrate and the protection layer includes a light developable organic(BCB) layer which is patterned directly by exposing using a mask instead of patterning with a photo resist. The portion of the light developable organic layer remaining on the bottom part of contact holes after patterning is etched using a gate insulating layer. The etching process using the gate insulating layer is performed partially in order to expose the surface of the gate pad by using a plasma gas having about 85% CF4 and about 15% O2.
