    • An impact-absorbing strike assembly for a lock on a closure such as a gate. A strike plate is mounted in spaced relationship from a mounting plate. A bolt having a head extends slidably through a bore in the mounting plate and is attached to the strike plate. A primary compression spring is disposed between the mounting plate and the strike plate, and a secondary compression spring is positioned on the bolt between the head and the rear of the mounting plate. Upon closure, the momentum of the gate causes the primary spring between the strike plate and the mounting plate to be compressed, absorbing the energy of the impact. In another embodiment, an impact-absorbing strike assembly includes a latch component such as a clevis-style strike for use with a mechanical or electromechanical locking device.

    • A device for transferring electrical power between a frame and a closable member such as a door includes a first housing and face plate disposed in an opening in the frame and a second housing and face plate disposed in an opening in the closable member edge. The openings are positioned so that when the closable member is closed the openings are aligned. A hollow elbow assembly is rotatably disposed and secured in each hole. A tube having a pivot guide at each end is rotatably and axially slidable in each elbow assembly. A slot in each elbow assembly allows the tube to pivot. A wire bundle in the tube is connectable to wire leads. Boots may be supplied around the tube/elbow assemblies' junctions to exclude water. Thus, the wire bundle is fully contained within a protective, articulated, armored sheath to prevent wear, chafing, breakage, and vandalism.

    • A door release system including a capacitive circuit that includes a touch bar, a microprocessor within the touch bar programmed with noise-discrimination software to sense touching of the bar, and at least one micro-switch within the bar to function as a back-up that picks up movement of the bar to release the latch should the capacitive circuit fail. Optionally, a sign illuminated by LEDs and an antimicrobial coating/treatment may be applied to the bar. The system is intended for use on magnetically locked doors. The addition of the micro-switches that are actuatable by continued movement on the touch bar after the bar is initially touched provides a redundant access function initiated by other than the capacitive effect of human touch, which is expected to simplify use and ease accessibility for personnel with prosthetics or who may otherwise have their hands occupied.
