    • A sensor system for a steering wheel of a vehicle includes a first sensor disposed within a first portion of the steering wheel to detect contact with a front left surface of the steering wheel. The sensor system includes a second sensor disposed within a second portion of the steering wheel separate from the first portion to detect contact with a front right surface of the steering wheel. The sensor system also includes a third sensor disposed within the steering wheel to detect contact with a rear surface of the steering wheel. The first, second and third sensors are configured to respectively detect touching of the front left surface, the front right, and the rear surface of the steering wheel by a hand or a non-hand part of an operator of the vehicle. The first, second and third sensors can be complex impedance sensors.

    • A method for identifying clusters of similar documents from among a set of documents is described. A particular document is selected based on rank from among a ranked set of documents, wherein the ranked set of documents are included among available documents of the set of documents. A probe is generated based on the particular document. The probe comprising one or more features. Documents that satisfy a similarity condition are found from among the available documents using a search based upon the probe. Some or all documents found are associated with a particular cluster of documents. The process can be repeated to generate further clusters. The method can be implemented with a computer, and associated programming instructions can be contained within a compute readable carrier.

    • A driving tool includes a shank, a sleeve, and a return spring disposed therebetween. The shank has a ball recess with a ball received therein. The shank has an interior interface adapted for receiving a tool bit. The ball recess substantially extends into the interior interface. The sleeve mounts on the shank to slide between limits. The sleeve has a first interior ball release recess followed by an interior ball lock surface and then a second interior ball release recess. The release recesses and surface are oriented with respect to the ball recess so as to permit selective displacement of the same over the ball recess to unlock the ball with movement in either direction. A return spring is disposed between the shank and the sleeve. The spring has a first and second end. One of the ends of the spring acts against a feature fixed with the shank and the other end of the spring acts against a feature fixed with the sleeve in a manner so, as to permit selective displacement of the ball release recess and lock surface over the ball recess. The position of least spring potential energy is the position with the surface located just above the ball recess so as to tend to lock the ball into engagement with tool bit when the sleeve is in a rest position.

    • A system is provided for recovering a mobile device by enabling an authorized user to remotely change the profile of the device to assist others in returning the device to the user. Initially, a user registers the mobile device with a recovery assist server. When the user is unable to locate the device because it is, for example, lost or stolen, the user indicates with the server that the device is missing. The device and the server are configured to communicate with each other, for example, periodically or, in another example, on device start up. If the device is identified as missing on the server, the operation of the mobile device is configured based on a missing profile associated with the mobile device. Once the device is located, the user indicates with the server that the device is no longer missing. When the device is unidentified as missing on the server, the operation of the mobile device is configured based on a user profile associated with the mobile device. When the mobile device is configured based on the missing profile, the mobile device may, for example, display a background image or play a ring tone to inform persons near the device that the device is considered mislaid and to provide such persons with information for returning the device.
