    • The invention relates to positioning a cannula in a vein. A tab (11) is provided on a movable member (9, 10) comprising a wall (10) with a through-hole (12) therein for inserting a needle in such a way that inserting the needle into the through-hole holds the tab in a retaining position on a flange of the base (2) of a catheter (1), wherein said wall (10) is transversely slidably mounted in the chamber of the needle stick guard (6) relative to the needle between a lower retaining position and an upper release position so that when the needle is retracted into the guard and spaced back from said hole, the wall (10) that no longer has the needle extending therethrough can slide into the upper position thereof, thereby raising said tab above the flange of the base and enabling the guard to be separated from the catheter base. The invention is suitable for use in intravenous catheters.

    • A device for introducing a catheter into a body site through the skin by means of an security non-piercing cage includes a steel spring flexible blade which is disposed in the cross section of the chamber of the nonpiercing cage near the proximal input thereof perpendicularly to a needle and is penetrable by the needle. The blade and the needle are adapted to interact in such a way that the blade is in a resting position and freely transversable by the needle when the needle is pushed in a distal direction, and the blade stops the needle and is flexed thereby when the needle is pulled in a proximal direction beyond a determined axial position in such a way that the flexed blade tilts the needle and exposes the inclined needle to a restoring force which pushes the needle off in the distal direction until the puncture end is stopped against the chamber wall. The invention can be used for intravenous catheters.

    • The invention relates to placing a cannula by means of a needle and a non-piercing cage. A hook is formed on the end (6a) of a holding member (6) which is pivotally mounted on a non piercing cage (5) around a transversal axis pivoting in the needle sliding direction in order to be engaged with the flange (12) of the cannula base. An opposite end (6b) of said member laterally contacts the needle when said needle penetrates in the cage. The member is embodied in such a way that it is pivotable about said axis when it is not in contact with the needle in such a way the hook is raised and disengaged from the flange of the base while the opposite end of the member is lowered and interposed in front of the end of the needle puncture, thereby preventing the end of exiting from a chamber through the distal exit thereof. Said invention can be used for intravenous catheters.
