One portion of the at least one linking element is attached to the first part of the boot and the other portion is attached to either the second part of the boot or the foot. The traction apparatus is positioned on the boot, and the direction changing apparatus changes the direction of the at least one linking element as the at least one linking element extends from the first part of the boot to either the second part of the boot or the foot. In addition, the direction changing apparatus is positioned on the traction apparatus.
