    • An electrosensitive recording material has in a single electrosensitive layer a semiconductor oxide which may be doped or otherwise treated to have crystal surface defects, an antimony or bismuth salt and a complexing agent for modifying the electronic configuration of the salt, all components being uniformally dispersed in a binder. The sensitive layer is carried on an electrically conductive backing which is capable of generating positive charges. Permanent recordings of electrically relayed information signals are formed on the electrosensitive coating by injecting electrons from a writing electrode or stylus into the electrosensitive layer. The electrons create color centers at electron trapping centers formed when the bismuth and antimony salt complex combines with the surface defects of the semiconductor oxide.Electrosensitive coating compositions, recording materials, recording method and apparatus are described.

    • The invention relates to electrographic recording.It relates to an electrographic recording process characterized by forming at least one permanent trace or mark by local injection of electrons by means of at least one marking electrode brought to negative potential in an electrosensitive layer containing grains of a color center-generating substance dispersed in an appropriate binder, said electrosensitive layer being supported by a layer which is a good conductor of electricity brought to a positive potential and containing a substance which is able to supply to the electrosensitive layer the same number of positive charges as electrons injected by the marking electrode.The invention can be used in various recording implements.

    • An X-Ray sensitive composition including one or several photopolymerizable monomer or photocrosslinkable polymer systems and thermochromic substances which can be used in a dry X-Ray reproduction process. The process is based on the different dielectric constants and dielectric losses exhibited by a monomer and the corresponding polymer or a polymer and the crosslinked polymer and the reaction of certain thermochromic substances which exhibits a specific threshold temperature above which these substances change from a colorless form to a color stable form. The X-Ray sensitive element is exposed according to a pattern of X-Ray with spatial modulation providing an X-Ray image to form a latent image of polymerized or crosslinked zones and unpolymerized or non crosslinked zones. Exposed elements are developed by passing through a high frequency electrical field which raises the temperature of the polymerized or crosslinked zones by dielectric heating to above the color threshold temperature of the thermochromic substance. An Apparatus for carrying out the process is also described.

    • This invention provides an image-forming and image-transferring sheet comprising a base layer having a first surface and a second surface. The base layer is impregnated with a first image-forming reactant whereas each of the surfaces of the base layer has coated thereon a microporous membrane layer having a gradient in elasticity across the thickness thereof. The more elastic surface of the membrane is in contact with the base layer. The other surface of the membrane is coated with a second image-forming reactant. Upon impact by an image instrument such as a typewriter key, the membrane becomes extended to allow diffusion of the first reactant through the membrane to react with the second image-forming reactant on the surface of an adjacent sheet to form an image on the surface of the adjacent sheet. A method of preparing an image-forming and image-transferring sheet is also provided.
