Suitable meroterpenes include plant extracts having one or more meroterpene-enriched fractions, especially suited are Bakuchiol and derivatives of Bakuchiol. These skin protective compositions may optionally include an effective amount of one or more skin protective ingredients such as antioxidants, vitamins, anti-inflammatory agents, self-tanning agents and mixtures thereof.
