摘要： Integrated flywheel uninteruptible power supply (UPS) systems provide reliable back-up power protection in a single integrated housing unit. The integration of the two normally independent systems results in a synergism such that various components may be shared between the systems. For example, the flywheel unit and the UPS electronics unit may utilize a single cooling system that is less complex and requires less energy to operate than two independent cooling systems. Other shared components may include at least control circuitry, user and display interface circuitry, fusing, DC bus capacitors, and emergency shut-off circuitry.

摘要： An electric converter is provided which uses independently controlled field coils to impress a temporary magnetic field on a rotor movable relative to one or more armatures. In some embodiments, the rotor of the programmable electric converter is rotatable with the axis of rotation being on a horizontal or vertical axis. In various embodiments, the electric converter disclosed herein may be adapted for use as a continuous power solution to provide power for a limited period of time in the event of a power outage by absorbing energy and storing it mechanically in the rotor. In some embodiments, the electric converter may be utilized as a generator. In some embodiments, both AC and DC could be simultaneously produced, where AC is generated in one armature coil and DC in another coil. In some embodiments, the programmable electric converter can operate as an AC to AC converter, AC to DC converter, DC to AC converter, or DC to DC converter. In some embodiments, the electro-magnetic converter may be utilized to provide electro-magnetic propulsion to provide precise acceleration profiles and capture regenerative braking energy.

摘要： Systems and methods for portable air conditioners are shown. In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, a description of a design is provided for a portable air conditioning unit that uses a standard 5-gallon bucket and 20 pounds of ice. In some embodiments, a 24 VDC lithium ion battery pack powers a backwards curved impeller, which draws air into an intake plenum and down through draft tubes, up thru an impeller, which slings the air radially thru exhaust duct(s) and out onto the user(s). A single push button may be utilized to turn the fan on and off and select a fan speed. In some embodiments, a neoprene insulating sleeve may be applied to the outside of the 5-gallon bucket or may line the inside of the bucket. In some embodiments, up to 7 vent wedges may be installed to duct the cool air in selectable directions. In some embodiments, the vent wedges may be removed allowing the top to seat down lower increasing the velocity of the cool air exiting radially.
