    • An image projector for calibrating a color of an image and recalibrating the color of the image is provided. The image projector includes an illuminating optical part having at least three independent light sources; a light modulator for modulating light emitted from the illuminating optical part according to an image signal; an imaging optical part for projecting the light modulated by the light modulator onto the screen to form an image; and a photo sensor disposed in a light path traveling in a different direction than a direction of the light beam to be projected on the screen, receiving a portion of the light beam modulated by the light modulator and providing measurement values necessary for a color calibration.

    • An apparatus is provided for compensating for color loss of an image in an image projector. A light source has Red (R), Green (G) and Blue (B) lamps. An optical image modulator receives R, G and B lights generated in the light source, receives an electrical image signal, modulates the lights according to the image signal, and outputs the lights so that an associated image is projected on a screen. A camera photographs an area on the screen where the image is projected. A lamp driving controller with a color-temperature table, in which optimal brightness setting values of the R, G and B lamps are stored for each screen color, checks brightness setting values of each of the lamps upon receipt of screen color information from the camera. A lamp driver drives each of the lamps in the light source according to control information from the lamp driving controller.

    • An integrated circuit is provided for driving a light source. The light source outputs light. A light receiver receives part of the light output from the light source. In response to a detection current from the light receiver, an automatic power controller adjusts an operating current of the light source. A power converter efficiently supplies power from a power supply to the light source. A modulation signal input unit inputs a modulation signal for modulation of light output power. This circuit structure performs a control operation for constantly maintaining the intensity of light even in a variation in an ambient temperature or deterioration in the light source and also reduces power consumption in the integrated circuit for driving the light source.
