摘要： An improved process which comprises applying a layer of a color coating composition to a substrate used for the exterior of a motor vehicle and then applying a layer of a clear coating composition to the color coating and curing the resulting clear coat/color coat layer; the improvement is the use of a clear coating composition containing a film forming binder of an acrylosilane polymer and exposing the clear coat layer after curing to an artificial source of UV light under ambient temperatures and atmospheric conditions in an amount sufficient to improve the resistance of the clear coat to water spotting and acid etching when exposed to natural weathering conditions.

摘要： An apparatus for measuring the work produced by a compressor comprises pressure sensors for measuring the suction and discharge pressures of the compressor and a device for measuring the operating speed of the compressor. The apparatus further comprises a data processor for receiving signals representative of the suction and discharge pressures of the compressor and its operating speed, and generating a signal representative of the work performed by the compressor during a predetermined time interval. Desirably, the data processor is designed to integrate the work output of the compressor over a series of time intervals to generate a cumulative horsepower-hour reading for the compressor over an extended period of time.

摘要： This invention is directed to polymeric compounds which contain the polyalkylpiperidine radical and at least two primary hydroxyl groups. These compounds are useful as light stabilizers for plastics and coatings. More particularly, the polymeric stabilizers is formed by chain extending polyalkylpiperidine with an excess of epoxy resin to form a diepoxide functional polymer which is then capped with hydroxy functional monomer.

摘要： A high solids, thermosetting coating composition which, exclusive of pigments, solvents and other nonreactive components consists essentially of:(A) A hydroxy functional component consisting of:(1) between about 1 and about 90 weight percent of an oligoester (i) having a number average molecular weight (M.sub.n) of between about 150 and about 3000 (ii) bearing at least about 2 hydroxyl groups and (iii) being formed by an esterification reaction between a carboxylic acid and an epoxide; and(2) between about 99 and about 10 weight percent of a hydroxy functional copolymer having a number average molecular weight (M.sub.n) of between about 500 and about 15,000, said hydroxy functional copolymer being formed from about 10 to about 50 weight percent of hydroxy functional monoethylenically unsaturated monomers selected from the group consisting of hydroxy bearing aliphatic alcohol esters of acrylic and methacrylic acids, and a remainder of other monoethylenically unsaturated monomers; and(B) A crosslinking agent capable of reacting with hydroxy functionality of said hydroxy functional component.
