    • The present invention relates to a method for detection of film mode or camera mode of a video sequence. This detection is carried out using histograms of video levels of frames of the video sequence. Difference histograms are calculated then compared with each other so as to generate difference parameters for each video frame of the sequence. The pattern formed by these difference parameters is then compared with predetermined patterns to deduce the mode, film or camera, of the sequence. The advantage of this method is that it requires just small memory resources for its implementation and can therefore be implanted in an FPGA circuit.

According to the invention, either the noninverting input or the inverting input of the operational amplifier is connected to the output of the power supply means such as to form, together with the modulator gate which is connected to the output of the operational amplifier, a feedback loop for the operational amplifier, when one of the emitters is selected. The invention also relates to a method of controlling one such display device.

    • The present invention relates to a priming method in the cells of a plasma display panel and a device implementing said method. In a plasma display panel, each cell is provided with at least two electrodes and one type of phosphor out of at least two types is associated with each of the cells to determine the color of the light emitted by the cell. Priming consists in applying a voltage greater than a threshold voltage between the electrodes of the cells. Since the threshold voltage above which electrical charges are created in the cell is different according to the type of phosphor of the cell, it is proposed according to the invention to use, to create the charges in the cells, a voltage that differs according to the type of phosphor so as to create only the electrical charges needed in the cells.

    • The present invention relates to a device intended to generate a sustain signal on columns of cells in a display panel comprising a matrix of display cells that are organized in rows and columns, at least one column driver comprising at least two switches for applying selectively an input voltage to at least one column of cells. According to the invention, the device includes inductive means for generating said input voltage. These inductive means are intended to oscillate with the capacitor of the columns of cells selected by the column driver. In this device, the switches of the column driver are controlled so as to generate, by cooperation with the inductive means, the sustain signal to be applied to the columns of cells. This device is particularly advantageous as it uses the column driver switches of the display panel to generate the sustain signal pulses.
