    • An electrical connector (100) for electrically connecting an IC module to a printed circuit board includes a housing (1), a number of electrical contacts (2) received in the housing, a protecting device (3) floatable assembled with the housing, and an elastic device retained and sandwiched between the protecting device and the insulative housing. The contacts are divided into plural groups, each contact has an elastic contacting portion (221) projecting out of the housing. The protecting device can float up and down in a higher and lower positions, in the higher position the protecting device is supported by the elastic device, the contacting portions of the contacts are within the corresponding slots, and in the lower position the protecting device is pressed down, the contacting portions of the contacts project out of the slots.

    • A socket connector (100) for electrically connecting a central process unit (CPU) to a printed circuit board includes a housing (1), and a number of electrical contacts (2) received in the housing. The housing, being of a frame defining an opening, is constructed by joining pieces of separate housing-plates (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d) end by end.     • An electrical connector for electrically connecting an integrated circuit package to a circuit substrate includes a first and a second unit sections, and each unit section has a number of terminals received therein. Each unit section includes a mating surface, an opposed mounting surface, a fixing edge, and an engaging edge. The engaging edge of the first unit section has a protruding tongue, and the engaging edge of the second unit section defines a recessed portion for engaging the protruding tongue. An interlocking device is formed between the protruding tongue and the recessed portion, so that the protruding tongue is capable of overlapping and combined with the recessed portion via the interlocking device to make the first and the second unit sections become a unitary structure.
