摘要： A strapping machine of the type including gripping means for holding the strap encircled in a loop about the object, seal feed mechanism, gathering jaws, tensioning means, sealing jaws, crimping die members and a shear blade, also comprises a single air-actuated piston adapted for reciprocating movement in directions substantially normal to the plane of the strap in the sealing region, the piston driving a crosshead having cam surfaces and abutment surfaces thereon respectively operative to produce substantially simultaneously a cammed movement of the sealing jaws to their sealing configuration, movement of the die members to their crimping position, movement of the shear blade to its shearing position and opening of the gathering jaws, all during a single stroke of the crosshead; novel linkage for coupling the piston to the crosshead is also disclosed.

摘要： A machine for tensioning a strap around an object includes a pair of toothed gripping jaws movable by first drive means into and out of holding engagement with the strap in directions substantially normal thereto to prevent scoring thereof, the gripping jaws being pivotally movable to a releasing position for accommodating removal of the strap therefrom, sealing jaws and a seal feed member respectively movable by second and third drive means alternately into ea sealing region, the seal feed member in the sealing region positioning a seal therein and guiding the passage of the strap therethrough, the sealing jaws in the sealing region sequentially deforming the seal into partial sealing and full sealing engagement with the strap, straightening means movable by fourth drive means into and out of straightening engagement with the supply portion of the strap, and control circuitry for controlling the operation of the several drive means.
