    • A timing error compensation system in an OFMD/CDMA communication system includes an analog-to-digital converter for converting an OFDM signal, comprised of a data symbol stream in which a pilot symbol is inserted at intervals of a prescribed number of data symbols, received from a transmitter, to a digital OFDM symbol stream by prescribed sampling synchronization, a guard interval remover for removing a guard interval inserted in the OFDM symbol by prescribed frame synchronization, and a fast Fourier transform (FFT) device for performing fast Fourier transform on the guard interval-removed OFDM symbol and outputting a data symbol stream. In the time error compensation system, a pilot symbol detector receives the data symbol stream and detects the pilot symbols inserted in the data symbol stream at prescribed intervals. A timing compensator determines a linear phase difference line for the detected pilot symbol, generates a timing error estimation signal according to the determined linear phase difference line, and provides the timing error estimation signal to the analog-to-digital converter and the guard interval remover so as to determine the sampling synchronization and the frame synchronization.

    • A method for retransmitting high-speed packet data in a transmission apparatus of a mobile communication system that simultaneously performs Automatic Retransmission reQuest (ARQ) that retransmits an ARQ packet reconfigured by allocating a sequence number to data delivered from an upper layer, and Hybrid Automatic Retransmission reQuest (HARQ) that multiplexes a plurality of ARQ packets into one HARQ packet and performs repeated retransmission on the HARQ packet within a maximum retransmission limit value. A transmitting HARQ entity checks a missing ARQ packet and sends a Negative Acknowledgement (NACK) for the missing ARQ packet to a transmitting ARQ entity. The transmitting ARQ entity receives an Acknowledged (ACK) for ARQ packets from a receiving ARQ entity, detects at least one missing ARQ packet according to the NACK and the ACK, configures a retransmission packet with the detected ARQ packet, and retransmits the retransmission packet.

    • A mobile terminal includes an apparatus configured to perform a method for inter-Radio Access Technology (RAT) measurement. When a measurement condition is satisfied, the apparatus turns on, at an operating module, a standby module and generates a time latch signal to the standby module at a time T0. The apparatus also latches, at the standby module, a time according to the time latch signal and reports the latched time value to the operating module. At the operating module, a measurement request message is sent. The measurement request message includes measurement parameter information and offset information between the time T0 and antenna switching times T2 and T5 to the standby module. The apparatus sets, at the standby module, a time interrupt using the information of the measurement message and performing inter-RAT measurement according to the time interrupt.

    • A method for receiving a broadcast service and a unicast service by a UE is provided. The method includes calculating a candidate interval for receiving the unicast service by referring to scheduling information of the broadcast service by the UE, when the unicast service begins to be provided through another frequency band other than a dedicated frequency band for the broadcast service while the UE receives the broadcast service through the dedicated frequency band; notifying the scheduling information of the broadcast service and the calculated candidate interval to an ENB in charge of scheduling of the unicast service by the UE; and switching to said another frequency band and receiving the unicast service in the candidate interval, while switching to the dedicated frequency band and receiving the broadcast service in another interval other than the candidate interval, by the UE.
