    • A fusing device to reduce lubricant leakage, includes a fusing belt having a heat source placed therein, a pressure roller placed to apply pressure to an outer surface of the fusing belt, and a nip plate to support an inner surface of the fusing belt so as to define a fusing nip between the fusing belt and the pressure roller. The nip plate includes a stepped portion spaced apart from the inner surface of the fusing belt so as to define a space for accommodation of a lubricant applied to the inner surface of the fusing belt. The fusing device may further include a side frame to rotatably support a longitudinal end of the fusing belt. The side frame may be provided with a lubricant guide to guide the lubricant on the longitudinal end of the fusing belt toward the center of the fusing belt.

    • A fusing device and an image forming apparatus having the same. The fusing device can include a fusing belt, a heat source disposed in an interior of the fusing belt, a supporting member to support at least a portion of an inner peripheral surface of the fusing belt, a press member mounted while opposing the fusing belt to form a fusing nip, and a nip forming part formed with an opening portion to enable heat emitted from the heat source to be transferred to the fusing belt at a position corresponding to the fusing nip. The nip forming part can have at least one gap maintaining part to prevent change of a gap of the opening portion. The nip forming part is provided at the supporting member or a nip forming member mounted between the heat source and the supporting member. Accordingly, a temperature of the fusing belt can rise quickly by directly heating the fusing belt, and deterioration of fusing performance due to deformation of the nip forming member can be prevented.

    • An image forming apparatus to shorten a warm-up time required to fuse a visible image to a printing medium is provided. The image forming apparatus includes an indirect heating member to indirectly transfer radiant heat to the visible image formed on the printing medium passing through the fusing nip, and a direct heating member to directly transfer resistance heat to the visible image formed on the printing medium passing through the fusing nip. Accordingly, since the radiant heat generated from the indirect heating member heats the direct heating member, a heating rate of the direct heating member increases, and the warm-up time required to reach a predetermined fusing temperature to fuse the visible image is shortened.
