The barrier includes: a first substrate; a plurality of first electrodes disposed on the first substrate and extended in a first direction; a plurality of second electrodes respectively disposed between adjacent first electrodes; a second substrate opposing the first substrate; a plurality of third electrodes disposed on the second substrate and extended in a second direction crossing the first direction; a plurality of fourth electrodes respectively disposed between adjacent third electrodes; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates. The barrier driver receives a barrier control signal from the controller, and applies a reference voltage to the first electrodes, the second electrodes, the third electrodes, and/or the fourth electrodes, and applies a liquid crystal driving voltage to one or more other ones of the first to fourth electrodes.

The three-dimensional display device includes an image display unit where left sub-pixels corresponding to a left-eye image part and right sub-pixels corresponding to a right-eye image part are formed in a pattern in a sub-pixel array having rows and columns respectively arranged in a row direction and a column direction. A parallax barrier, which is adjacent to the image display unit, has a plurality of light interception portions and light transmission portions. Centers of the light transmission portions in the column direction of the sub-pixel array are offset from each other in the row direction of the sub-pixel array.

When the input image is displayed by execution of a specific program, the start signal, the end signal, or the inactivation signal of the specific program is detected. With the start signal of the program detected, the stereoscopic display device determines whether the program is a 2D or 3D program. With the end signal or the inactivation signal of the program detected, the stereoscopic display device determines whether the image to be displayed on the display panel is a 2D or 3D image. The display device converts the resolution of the display panel according to the determination results.

摘要： A stereoscopic image display device displays a stereoscopic image by generating stereoscopic image data based on 3D graphics data. The stereoscopic image display device includes a display unit for displaying an image, a driver, and a controller. The controller receives a synchronization signal, the 3D graphics data, and a user selection parameter for modifying a stereoscopic effect level, and outputs a control signal based on the synchronization signal and a stereoscopic image data signal, which is generated by combining left eye image data and right eye image data generated through performing matrix operations on the 3D graphics data and the user selection parameter, to the driver. The driver drives the display unit based on the control signal and the stereoscopic image data signal to display the stereoscopic image on the display unit.

摘要： A system and method for driving a stereoscopic image display device includes, during a first period wherein no image is displayed, writing a first data signal corresponding to a first image on a first display cell and writing a second data signal corresponding to a second image on the second display cell. During a second period, the first image and the second image are displayed by driving the barrier to become a first format. During a third period in which no image is displayed, the second data signal is written on the first display cell and the first data signal is written on the second display cell. During a fourth period, the first and second images are displayed by driving the barrier to become a second format. The barrier intercepts and transmits light at different angles in the first format than in the second format.
