摘要： A wireless communication system (20) allows for using base station router devices (30, 32) for in building communications using a mobile station (22). Automatically registering a base station router device and automatically configuring at least an initial parameter for a frequency, transmit power and definition code of the base station router device facilitates easy installation of such devices. In one example, the initial parameters are determined by a communication server associated with a wireless communication network. In another disclosed example, at least one of the initial parameters is automatically determined by the base station router device.

摘要： The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for using a bidding strategy to select a bid price for at least one of goods and services in an auction of wireless communication access requests within a marketplace of sellers and buyers to obtain a profit gain in that auction. A communications system may include a broker to select a bid price in response to a service request from a mobile communication device to an operator including a bidding algorithm for bidding a price in an auction. At an operator, a bidding algorithm, in accordance with one embodiment, may provide or use a robust, adaptive bidding strategy that may maximize the profit gain in a bidding process by assuming one of at least two forms for a probability of winning as a function of a bid price and through the use of a set of mixed strategies. The bidding strategy may identify a form, for the probability of winning, that may be currently prevalent and determine one or more parameter values defining a probability function based on the identified form. Using a state machine for a bidder's strategy, the bidding algorithm may provide a trade-off between optimizing the revenue and investigating the current conditions in the marketplace.

According to this method, a first network agrees with the user terminal to provide the service at a certain charge rate, then starts to provide the service. Subsequently at least one other network is invited by the first network to provide the service. The first network receives at least one offer from the other networks to provide the service to the user terminal. The first network then accepts one of the offers, such that the one of said other networks thereafter provides the service and charges the user terminal without the first network being involved.

In a disclosed example, a newly installed base station (32) transmits a cell information list to a mobile station (22) requesting measurement reports regarding a plurality of candidate base station identifiers. Based upon the reported measurements, a determination is made regarding which of the base stations should be included in the neighbor set for the base station (32). A disclosed example includes the capability of automatically initializing the neighbor set and automatically updating the set. Disclosed examples include utilizing information from a plurality of mobile stations.
