    • An information processing unit of the present invention includes: a housing that incorporates an information processor; a handle arranged on one side surface of the housing; and support members that are arranged on the one side surface of the housing to protrude and support the handle. The support members respectively are arranged continuously from the one side surface to a pair of other side surfaces adjacent to the one side surface in a direction in which the handle is bridged. Each of the support members has a bent portion between the one side surface and each of the other side surfaces. Thus, a stress applied between the first housing and a handle mechanism when, for example, a user carries a notebook PC holding a handle can be dispersed, so that the handle can be fixed to the first housing with improved strength.

    • An information processing unit of the present invention includes a display panel capable of displaying a video image; and a casing having a rear face panel that covers at least a back side of the display panel, the back side being opposite to a display face of the display panel. In the information processing unit, the rear face panel has an opposed face opposed to the display panel, and the opposed face includes a wall-thinned portion having a small thickness, and a wall-thickened portion that is a part of the wall-thinned portion having a thickness increased in a direction toward the display panel, and the wall-thickened portion is formed continuously from one side to an opposite side of the opposed face, the one side and the opposite side forming a perimeter of the opposed face and being opposite to each other.

    • Since an information processing unit of the present invention includes a protrusion portion on a back face side of a first casing, it is possible to reduce an impact transmitted to a notebook PC when the notebook PC is placed in an upright position on the surface of a desk. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the notebook PC from being damaged. Furthermore, since the protrusion portion is provided to the back face side of the first casing, it is possible not to allow the notebook PC to stand self-supported in an upright position. Therefore, the notebook PC will not be placed carelessly in an upright position on the surface of a desk or the like; thus, it is possible to prevent the PC from being broken or damaged due to a fall.
