摘要： Provided are a novel arylamine compound of a specific structure having at least one spiro bond; an organic EL device in which an organic compound layer comprising one layer or plural layers including at least a luminescent layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode, wherein at least one of the above organic compound layers contains the arylamine derivative described above; an organic EL device in which an organic compound layer comprising one layer or plural layers including at least a luminescent layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode, wherein at least one of the above organic compound layers contains the arylamine derivative described above and a luminescent material; and an organic EL device in which an organic compound layer comprising one layer or plural layers including at least a luminescent layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode, wherein the above organic compound layer is prepared by laminating a hole transporting layer containing the arylamine derivative described above and a luminescent layer comprising a phosphorescence-emitting metal complex and a host material. Provided are an organic EL device which has a high luminance, a high heat resistance and a long life and which is excellent in a hole transporting property and has a high luminous efficiency and a novel arylamine compound which realizes the same.

The compounds act as hole transporting and luminescent host materials for both fluorescent and phosphorescent emission. 摘要： Disclosed are a novel polycyclic aromatic compound having a specific structure and a material for forming a luminescent coating film which is composed of an organic solvent solution containing such a polycyclic aromatic compound. Also disclosed is an organic electroluminescent (EL) device wherein an organic thin film layer composed of one or more layers including at least a light-emitting layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode. Such an organic EL device has high luminous efficiency and long life, since the polycyclicaromatic compound is contained, by itself or as a component of a mixture, in at least one layer of the organic thin film layer of the organic EL device.

The organic EL device employing either the compound having a spiro bond or the material for forming luminous coated film in accordance with the present invention is superior in heat resistance, has stability of the thin film composing the device, emits uniform blue light, and exhibits an excellent luminance, current efficiency even under a low driving voltage.
