    • In a low insertion force connector, fitting members 30 and 40 are constituted respectively by a first cam member 30 and a second cam member 40 opposed to each other in a hood portion 21. In each of the first and second cam members, cam grooves 36, 46 for respectively guiding cam projections 12 and 13 are formed respectively in opposed walls 32, 42 of a frame-like body 31, 41. Fitting guide portions 37, 47 for respectively receiving the cam projections are formed respectively in extension walls 33, 43 extending respectively form the opposed walls. A window 35, 45 is formed in a guide groove 34, 44 formed in the extension wall, and is connected to an outlet of the cam groove. The extension walls of the first cam member are received respectively in the guide grooves in the second cam member, and the extension walls of the second cam member are received respectively in the guide grooves in the first cam member. The cam groove in the first cam member and the fitting guide portion in the second cam member are slanting in the same direction at the same angle, and the fitting guide portion in the first cam member and the cam groove in the second cam member are slanting in the same direction at the same angle. Therefore, a pair of connector housings can be fitted together with a lower insertion force.

    • A lock-detecting connector capable of surely detecting semi-connection or complete connection thereof is provided. The lock-detecting connector consists of a male connector having a pair of protecting walls on both sides of a locking arm, a female connector having an engaging projection to bend the locking arm and to engage the arm in a resiled state thereof and having an opening for receiving the protecting walls, and a lock-detecting member installed on a rear portion of the male connector, wherein the lock-detecting member has a pair of detecting arms abutting the respective rear ends of the protecting walls. The detecting arms have respective outwardly-facing projections, and front corner-portions formed on both sides of the opening press the outwardly-facing projections inwardly. Slits for receiving the respective outwardly-facing projections are provided on the protecting walls, and upwardly-facing projections for abutting the respective protecting walls are provided on the detecting arms. An interfering portion is provided on a lower portion of the rear end of the locking arm, and a pair of first-stop projections to abut on the locking arm when bent and a second-stop projection to abut the interfering portion are provided on the lock-detecting member. The lock-detecting member has a provisional engaging arm. Thus, a lock-detecting connector capable of surely detecting semi-connection or complete connection thereof is provided.

    • There are provided a resilient engaging piece to the terminal metal part provided through the resilient displacement permissible space opposite to the terminal accommodating cavity formed at a connector body portion of the connector, and the insertion detecting body corresponding to the resilient displacement permissible space at the main frame portion of the insertion detecting member for terminal metal parts and a pair of manipulating pieces each at opposite sides thereof. The insertion detecting member for terminal metal parts is caused to move freely to enable the main frame portion thereof to come into contact with the inside wall surface of the hood portion. The pair of manipulating pieces are exposed at both sides of the housing body portion through the window of the hood portion at the provisional engaging position, and the insertion detecting body can be moved to enter into the resilient displacement permissible space at the formal engaging position.

    • A connector includes a housing and a front holder. On the other hand, when the front holder is in a temporarily retained position with respect to the housing, the flexion preventing portion is evacuated from the refuge space to allow the flexion of the retaining lance. Inclination preventing portions are arranged on the main-body portion, the inclination preventing portions regulate an inclination of the front holder in the temporarily retained position with respect to the housing so as to prevent an entrance of flexion preventing portion into the refuge space.
