    • The output of a digital modulator is put into a power amplifying device, is distributed into n pieces in an n-power divider in the power amplifier, passes through n input phase shifters differing individually in the phase change amount, is amplified by n power amplifiers, passes through n output phase shifters to match the phase of n signals, is combined in an n-power combiner, and is issued from an output terminal to a phase shifter, and the output of the phase shifter is issued to a transmission antenna. Herein, the phase value of the phase shifter is determined so as to extend the region of the output load impedance for satisfying the specific value of unwanted radiation, and so that the output load impedance range of the load impedance of the power amplifier may be optimize to the impedance change range of the trans missionantenna, thereby eliminating the isolator and presenting a transmitting device of a portable wireless system realizing smaller size, higher performance, and lower cost of portable wireless system.

    • The invention provides a high-speed PLL frequency synthesizer in which the frequency of a reference signal can be made larger than a frequency interval of an external output with a simple configuration. An n-th harmonic of an output of a voltage-controlled oscillator is caused to pass through a band pass filter. The frequency of an output of the band pass filter is divided by M in a variable frequency divider. The phase of an output of the variable frequency divider is compared with that of the reference signal in a phase comparator. An output of the phase comparator is smoothed by a loop filter. The output of the voltage-controlled oscillator is controlled by an output of the loop filter. The fundamental wave of the output of the voltage-controlled oscillator is caused to pass through another band pass filter, and then output to the outside. At this time, the frequency of the reference signal is n times a frequency interval of the fundamental wave of the output of the voltage-controlled oscillator.

    • An object of the invention is that a user obtains high antenna gain with a simple construction in various use conditions of a portable wireless unit. To achieve the above object, in the invention, of a conductive antenna element, a part of a length of a substantially half-wavelength is used as a monopole part (1), and is disposed along the inside of a housing at the upper end of a portable wireless unit. Of the antenna element, the remaining part of a length of a substantially ¼ wavelength is used for an inverted-F antenna part (2), and disposed parallel to a ground plate surface within the housing of the portable wireless unit. The inverted-F antenna part (2) is disposed parallel to the upper end of the portable wireless unit (6). One end of the inverted-F antenna part (2) is connected to the ground plate (5) through an earthing point (3) provided at one end. A feeding point (4) is provided spaced from the earthing point by a predetermined distance. With such an arrangement, there is no need of using an impedance matching circuit. The construction of the portable wireless unit is simplified. High antenna gain is secured under various use conditions.

    • A microstrip antenna (MSA) above a ground plane, having a size corresponding to an operation frequency, at a junction point thereof, electrically connected to one end of a monopole antenna having a size corresponding to the operation frequency to operate as a complex antenna.
