    • The present invention makes it possible to reproduce an optical disc in random reproduction or programmed reproduction without interrupting reproduction, even though discs such as a DVD or CD-I with an interactive function are not removed from the roulette. A mechanical unit 1 selects a target optical disc 103 to be reproduced from among a plurality of optical discs accommodated in a roulette 702. A disc detection unit 204 detects the type of the optical disc which is selected as the target to be reproduced. A system controller unit 5 allows reproduction only in a case where the target optical disc to be reproduced is a CD-DA, when the reproduction mode entered to the user interface block unit 6 is either a random-reproduction mode or a programmed-reproduction mode.

    • A method for producing a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic material coated on a surface of a polymeric film comprising, in the running direction of the polymeric film, the steps of pressing a cleaning tape made of one of a non-woven fabric and a fabric impregnated with a cleaning agent against the surface of said polymeric film onto which said coating material is coated in order to wipe off foreign matter adhering to said surface of the polymeric film; drying the surface of the wiped polymeric film; and just after the drying step, coating a magnetic coating material onto a surface of a polymeric film while said polymeric film is running. An apparatus for the above method is also disclosed.

    • A longitudinal locking mechanism in which a male lock member may be adjustably projected from a female lock member in the longitudinal direction thereof. The female lock member has a bellmouthed split end portion warped outwardly and radially relative to the central axis thereof. Such bellmouthed split end portion may be elastically closed by a slide ring for threaded engagement with the male lock member, so that a desired projection amount of the male lock member may be adjusted for locking purposes in a vehicle seat. The slide ring is biased in a direction to close the bellmouthed split end portion of female lock member, and may be drawn by an operation lever, via an actuation element, in a direction away from that bellmouthed split end portion so as to release the threaded enagement between the male and female lock members.
