摘要： The present invention has been achieved to provide a novel optical transmission system realizing high-speed optical transmission over greater distance by suppressing waveform degradation caused by mode dispersion and mode transition in a multimode optical transmission line. The optical transmission system of the present invention includes: an optical transmitter for transmitting incoherent light; an excitation mechanism for exciting a predetermined mode in the incoherent light transmitted from the optical transmitter; a multimode optical transmission line for transmitting the incoherent light transmitted from the excitation mechanism; a transmission mechanism for transmitting a predetermined mode in the incoherent light transmitted from the excitation mechanism; and an optical receiver for receiving the incoherent light transmitted from the transmission mechanism or the incoherent light transmitted from the transmission mechanism.

Also provided is a method of producing a wood cement board, comprising the steps of covering wood flour ranging in size from 0.3 to 1.5 mm with calcium by mixing the wood flour with a cement composition, or with a cement, or with water resulting from dewatering a slurry, and stirring the mixture in water at a predetermined solids concentration; producing a slurry; producing a laminated mat; and pressing the mat at a pressure not higher than 10 MPa in use of a press, forming thereby a rugged pattern and performing curing.

A dielectric multilayer filter is provided in an intersection portion where two optical waveguides intersect each other and separates incident light to the dielectric multilayer filter to transmitted light and reflected light. Here, the distance X from the multilayer surface on the light-incident side of the dielectric multilayer to the central intersection point of the two intersecting optical waveguides is arranged to satisfy 0≦X≦d/2 (where “d” represents the thickness of the dielectric multilayer). With this configuration, a multi/demultiplexer can be realized that shows good wavelength response without spectral degradation even for two wavelengths having narrow wavelength spacing.

A target resistance of the cell used in temperature control (energization control) for the heater is corrected in accordance with the result of the comparison (S28). Thus, the temperature of the cell can be stably maintained constant irrespective of deterioration of the cell.
