    • A liquid jet recording head for discharging liquid droplets onto a recording medium includes a support, heat-generating resistance layer provided on the support for generating heat energy to discharge the liquid droplets, a pair of electrodes electrically connected to the heat-generating resistance layer, and heat-generating sections each serving as a portion for generating the heat energy, each head generating section comprising the heat-generating resistance layer sandwiched by the pair of electrodes. Plural discharge openings serve to discharge liquid droplets, a liquid chamber houses liquid, and there are plural liquid paths, each liquid path having an associated heat generating section, and communicating with an associated discharge opening and with the liquid chamber to supply liquid to the associated discharge opening from the liquid chamber. An layer on the support protects the heat-generating resistance layer and pair of electrodes, and the upper layer has an organic resin layer of organic material, and this organic resin layer is formed only on a whole region upstream of the heat-generating sections on the support in a liquid supply direction.

    • A liquid jet recording head comprises, in combination, a liquid discharge section having an orifice for forming flying liquid droplets at the time of the liquid discharge and a liquid flow path which is communicatively connected with the orifice and has as its one part a heat acting zone where heat energy acts on the liquid to form the liquid droplets; an electro-thermal transducer having at least a pair of electrodes arranged in mutual confrontation and in electrical connection with a resistive heat generating layer on a substrate to form a heat generating portion between said pair of electrodes; and a protective coating made up of three or more layers, each comprising an inorganic material, and laminated in a manner to cover the top surface of at least the heat generating portion, the inorganic materials constituting two mutually adjacent layers in the protective coating including therein at least one constituent element common to both layers.

    • A liquid jet recording head comprises a substrate comprising a support, a resistive heater layer, electrodes electrically connected with the resistive heater layer, a portion of the resistive heater layer located between the electrodes being an electrothermal transducer, and an upper layer comprising a first protective layer comprising an inorganic insulating material, a second protective layer comprising an inorganic material, and a third protective layer comprising an organic material, wherein and the second protective layer and the third protective layer overlap each other in the vicinity of a portion where heat is generated by the electrothermal transducer and the overlapping width of the second protective layer and the third protective layer ranges from 10 .mu.m to 500 .mu.m. In another embodiment, the second protective layer extends along plural liquid flow paths for substantially less than the length thereof in a continuous strip that covers adjacent transducers.
