    • A single lens reflex camera has a built-in winder which includes a reciprocating member reciprocatable in response to forward and reverse rotations of a motor for automatic charge-up of the camera mechanisms as well as for automatic film wind-up.A charge-type drive mechanism has a charge member which is pushed by the reciprocating member upon the forward movement of the latter due to the forward rotation of the motor to move forward for causing the charge-type drive mechanism to store a driving force.The reciprocating member retracts from the charge member upon its return movement so as not to impede return movement of the charge member. An operation mechanism such as a shutter is operated for photographing under the driving force stored in the charge-type drive mechanism, accompanying return movement of the charge member. A film advance mechanism advances a film in response to the return movement of the reciprocating member due to the reverse rotation of the motor. Furthermore, clutch mechanisms interlocked with a manual selection member are capable of connecting the motor to a film rewinding shaft while disconnecting the motor from the reciprocating member, so that automatic film rewinding is also made possible.

    • An electrically controlled self-timer is operable only when an eye-piece shutter is moved to an operative position to block extraneous light having passed through an eye-piece of the viewfinder optics to prevent it from impinging on a light responsive element, which is normally disposed to receive scene light having passed through a camera objective to generate an electric signal commensurate with the intensity of the light thus received for automatic exposure control. When a manually operable member is at a predetermined position, the eye-piece shutter is moved to the operative position and a switch is closed to operate a self-timer control circuit. Further, when the manually operable member is at another predetermined position the eye-piece shutter remains at the operative position, or alternatively when another manually operable member is operated, another switch is closed to initiate the operation of the electric control circuit which has been made operable beforehand by the closing of the first mentioned switch. In response to the operation of the electric control circuit, the self-timer operation is initiated.

    • An electromagnetic device which comprises an excitation coil wound to assume a substantially cylindrical shape having an axially extending hollow space; a plunger made of a magnetic material accomodated within the hollow space for movement in an axial direction of the excitation coil between retracted and projected positions; yoke means made of a magnetic material and engageable with one end of the plunger to provide a magnetic path which may be interrupted in response to the movement of the plunger towards the projected position, said yoke means extending between the respective ends of the excitation coil and positioned external of the said excitation coil to provide a closed magnetic circuit including the plunger and the magnetic path; a permanent magnet made of intermetallic compounds of cobalt and one more rare earth elements disposed in the closed magnetic circuit so as to develop a magnetic force of attraction attracting the plunger onto the end of the yoke means opposed to the end of the plunger and holding the plunger in the retracted position, said magnetic force of attraction being substantially cancelled by a magnetic force of the excitation coil when the excitation coil is energized; and means for covering the respective ends of the plunger and the yoke means so as to prevent powdered magnetic material from adhering to the respective ends of the plunger and the yoke means.
