摘要： A piezoelectric device operable in the thickness shear vibratory mode, and a method for manufacturing the piezoelectric device. In the piezoelectric device, a rectangular piezoelectric plate is polarized to have its polarization axis inclined to both the long and short sides thereof. This is accomplished by applying a predetermined electric field to the piezoelectric plate in the direction of the long side thereof, after applying a predetermined electirc field to it in the direction of the short side thereof. A pair of electrodes are formed on the piezoelectric plate so that the piezoelectric device is operable in the thickness shear vibration mode.
