According to the present invention, an abnormality detecting method for an R/D converter in a resolver apparatus includes detecting abnormalities of at least the resolver itself (1), a cable wiring (2) through which the resolver (1) and the R/D converter (3) are connected to each other, and the R/D converter (3) itself by an abnormality detection unit (4) provided in the R/D converter (3).
