    • A communication system (1) is provided with a plurality of communication apparatuses (11-15) for performing communication by using a power line (4), the communication system sharing the power line with other communication systems (2, 3). In the communication system, at least one of the plurality of communication apparatuses has: an region detecting device (101) for detecting a communicable region that can be used by the communication system, from a plurality of communicable regions divided at least by time; a declaring device (104) for declaring at least one portion of the detected communicable region, as a communicable region that is used by the communication system, to the other communication systems; and a notifying device (105) for notifying the plurality of communication apparatuses of the declared communicable region, each of the plurality of communication apparatuses performing communication in the notified communicable region.
