    • A transfer roller is used in an electrophotographic printer. The transfer roller rotates in contact with a rotating photoconductive drum with a print medium travelling therebetween. The transfer roller has a metal shaft around which a rubber roller is formed. The rubber roller is sponge-like and electrically semiconductive. The rubber roller is covered with a resin tube which has a lower layer formed on the rubber roller and an upper layer formed on the lower layer. One of the upper and lower layers has a higher sealing effect than the other of the upper and lower layers, and the other of the upper and lower layers has a higher stability of electrical resistance than the one of the upper and lower layer.

    • An image forming device including: an image forming unit; a heating body; a power supply unit; a temperature sensing member; and a controller. The image forming unit is configured to form an image on a recording sheet. The heating body is configured to heat the recording sheet on which the image is formed. The power supply unit is configured to supply power to the heating body. The temperature sensing member is configured to detect a temperature of the heating body. The controller is configured to: control the power supply unit based on the detected temperature; determine whether or not a high-power output state of the power supply unit has continued for a first duration under a print control process; and judge that the temperature sensing member is in an abnormal state when determination is made so that the high-power output state has continued for the first duration.

    • In an image-forming apparatus, a sheet detector detects the recording sheet conveyed from the sheet accommodating unit by the pickup roller. A fixing unit includes a heating member configured to heat the recording sheet. A power supply unit supplies the heating member with electric power. A control device is configured to: output a signal controlling the pickup roller to convey the recording sheet from the sheet accommodating unit; determine, based on a detection result of the sheet detector, whether the pickup roller succeeds in conveying the recording sheet from the sheet accommodating unit; control the power supply unit to supply the heating member with the electric power such that the electric power per unit time does not exceed an upper limit; and set the upper limit depending on a determination result of whether the pickup roller succeeds in conveying the recording sheet from the sheet accommodating unit.

    • An apparatus configured to discharge sheets may include pressing mechanism configured to downwardly press discharged sheets. For example, the pressing mechanism may include a first pressing member and a second pressing member. The first pressing member and the second pressing member may be located at least partially overlapping positions in the width-wise direction of the sheet. Additionally or alternatively, each of the first pressing member and the second pressing member may be configured to contact the sheet at different positions along a discharge direction. In one example, the different portions may be spaced apart from each other in the discharge direction.
