    • To inhibit corrosion of water wall tubes of a boiler and stabilize combustion on a burner during oxygen combustion operation, a boiler combustion system includes a boiler equipped with a burner and a two-staged combustion gas input port; a flue gas supply fan extracting flue gas from a flue gas treatment system via a flue gas circulation line; a combustion gas supply line, fuel carrier gas supply line, and two-staged combustion gas supply line branched off from the flue gas circulation line downstream of the flue gas supply fan; an oxygen supply line supplying oxygen-rich gas to the combustion gas supply line and fuel carrier gas supply line; combustion air supply fans; a switching unit switching operation between the flue gas supply fan and the combustion air supply fans; and dampers regulating gas flow rates on the combustion gas supply line and the two-staged combustion gas supply line, respectively.

    • A method for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions of a bubbling fluidized bed boiler burning biofuel and an air distribution system for a bubbling fluidized bed boiler biofuel. A fluidized bed is arranged in a lower part of a furnace of the boiler. The bed is fluidized by fluidizing gas that includes primary air. Fuel is fed to the fluidized bed, which dries and pyrolizes into pyrolysis gas including volatile matter of the fuel. The gas rises upwards in the furnace and burns. Secondary air is supplied above the fluidized bed from secondary air nozzles, and tertiary air is supplied above the secondary air nozzles. A part of primary air is supplied in connection with fuel feeding such that the fuel is forced substantially on the surface of the fluidized bed, thus pyrolizing entirely, and at least a part of the pyrolysis gases formed in the pyrolysis is burned by primary air such that the air coefficient in relation to the volatile matter of fuel in the pyrolysis gases is in the substoichiometric area.

    • Method for combusting pulverized fuels in a tangentially fired boiler and reducing emission of nitrogen oxides comprises steps of feeding a substantially air-deficient mixture of fuel and primary air through a fuel feeding pipe (1) tangentially into a furnace of the boiler in order to form a reducing flame (II) aNd blowing of at least one stream of combustion air into the furnace. The invEntion is based in that the stream of primary air and fuel is caused to recirculate and turbulate at the open end (2) of the fuel feeding pipe (1) by passing it through a flame holder (9) extending into the fuel feeding pipe (1), and the stream of combustion air is directed away from the primary air/fuel stream in order to prevent the combustion air to mix into the reducing flame (II).
