摘要： Accurate control of the tension of a wire electrode in a wirecut electrical discharge machine is achieved by eliminating a direct-current (DC) component from a speed difference signal between a braking section and a recovery section of the machine. The DC component of the speed signal which is eliminated is associated with the stretching of the wire electrode while under tension. As a result, the tension can be maintained constant dynamically as well as statically, thereby improving machining accuracy.

摘要： An external circulation apparatus capable of reliably detecting the level of a liquid in a foam reserving chamber of a defoaming device includes a pump for transferring and circulating blood externally of a body, a defoaming device for defoaming the blood externally circulated, and a controller for controlling the actions or operation of the centrifugal pump. The defoaming device includes a body portion having an internal space for the blood to flow in, a foam reserving chamber formed on the upper side of the body portion for receiving foam floating from the body portion, and a detector for detecting the liquid level of the blood in the foam reserving chamber. The detector includes a pair of electrode portions having at least a portion exposed to the inside of the foam reserving chamber, and a power feed unit for feeding electricity between the electrode portions. The controller controls the action of the centrifugal pump on the basis of the information obtained from the detector.

Plural commutator segments are radially arranged around a rotating shaft, separated from one another by radially extending commutator gaps. A width of the commutator gap is gradually widened along a radial direction of the commutator, so that foreign particles, such as swarfs or brush dusts, entered in the commutator gap are removed by a centrifugal force generated in rotation of the armature. Further, the width of the commutator gap may be gradually widened along its depth direction so that the width becomes wider at its open end that at its closed end.
