    • An image forming apparatus includes: a sheet feeding member for feeding a recording material; an image recording member for recording an image on the recording material; a conveyance path connecting the sheet feeding member and the image recording member, along which the recording material is conveyed; a registration member which is provided in the conveyance path located at the upstream side of the image recording member in the conveyance direction for the recording material, and stops the leading edge of the recording material when being hit by the leading edge, and then, starts conveyance of the recording material; a loop forming member which is provided in the conveyance path located at the upstream side of the registration member in the conveyance direction for the recording material, and forms a loop on the recording material which is stopped by the registration member; a first driving source for driving the registration member; a second driving source for driving the loop forming member; and a drive controller for controlling the first driving source and the second driving source. The drive controller drives both the first driving source and the second driving source after the leading edge of the recording material hits the registration member.

    • There is described an image forming apparatus, which forms high quality images free from a phenomenon of inter-sheet adhesion. The image forming apparatus includes a conveyance section to convey the transfer material along a conveying path; a cooling device disposed along the conveying path to cool the transfer material just after the toner image is fixed with heat; a controller-to control the conveyance section and the cooling device; and a first transfer-material detecting device disposed at a position adjacent to and upstream from the cooling device, in order to detect the transfer material coming into the conveying path. When the first transfer-material detecting device detects the transfer material coming, the controller controls the conveyance section to decelerate a conveyance velocity of the transfer material to a decelerated velocity lower than a normal conveyance velocity, so that the transfer material passes through the conveying path at the decelerated velocity.

    • A speed controlling circuit for controlling an optical scanning system driving motor in use with an image forming apparatus such as a copier and a printer. The speed controlling circuit includes; an encoder for generating pulse signals according to a rotation of the optical scanning system driving motor; a generating circuit for generating reference clock signals; a first memory for storing a first set of numbers for dividing a frequency of the pulse signals; a second memory for storing a second set of numbers corresponding to a target rotation speed of the optical scanning system driving motor; a first setting circuit and a second setting circuit for respectively reading one of the first set of numbers from the first memory and one of the second set of numbers from the second memory, and for setting those numbers at every predetermined interval time while the optical scanning system driving motor is accelerating or decelerating; a frequency-dividing circuit for dividing the frequency of the pulse signals according to the set number of the first set of numbers; a detecting circuit for detecting a rotating speed of the optical scanning system driving motor according to the reference signals and pulse signals at every frequency period which is divided by the frequency-dividing circuit; a comparator circuit for comparing the rotating speed, detected by the detecting circuit, with the set number of the second set of numbers at every frequency period which is divided by the frequency-dividing circuit; and a control circuit for controlling the rotating speed of the optical scanning system driving motor according to a result of the comparing of the comparator circuit.
