    • An optical pickup includes a lens holder holding an objective lens for converging a light beam on a signal recording layer of an optical disk; elastic support members supporting the lens holder such that the lens holder can freely move in three driving directions, i.e., a tracking direction, a focusing direction, and a tilting direction; a pair of coil units attached to two sides of the lens holder, the two sides being spaced in a tangential direction orthogonal to the focusing direction and tracking direction; and a pair of magnets arranged to face the corresponding coil units. Each coil unit includes a tracking coil, a focusing coil, and a tilting coil for driving the lens holder in the three driving directions. The focusing coil and the tilting coil are formed by winding a focusing conductor of the focusing coil and a tilting conductor of the tilting coil together in parallel.

    • An objective lens driving device is to be improved in sensitivity and reduced in size and thickness. To this end, an objective lens driving device includes a stationary block arranged on a stationary plate provided on a movable base, a movable block holding an objective lens and moved along the focusing direction, the tracking direction and the tilt direction, support springs for supporting the movable block with respect to the stationary block, a first magnetic circuit for causing movement of the movable block along the focusing direction and along the tracking direction, and a second magnetic circuit for causing movement of the movable block along the tilt direction. The second magnetic circuit includes a pair of tilt magnets, each having two poles so that N poles and S poles lie along the tangential direction, and a pair of tilt coils facing the tilt magnets and each having an axis of winding wire direction along the tangential direction. The tilt magnets and the tilt coils are mounted to the movable block and the stationary block, respectively. An objective lens and the second magnetic circuit are arranged on the opposite sides along the tangential direction with the first magnetic circuit in-between.

    • Disclosed herein is a light amount adjustment apparatus, including: a light amount adjustment member; a rotatable magnet formed in a disk shape; a driving arm configured to be pivoted by rotation of the magnet to operate the light amount adjustment member; a core having a pair of confronting portions positioned so as to sandwich the magnet from an outer circumference side and a connecting portion configured to connect end portions of the confronting portions to each other; a coil through which one of the portions of the core extends; and a base member having the core attached to the base member and supporting the magnet for rotation on the base member. The base member has a plurality of attaching projections provided at least at two places of the base member for attaching the core to the base member. The attaching projections have a small projection for fitting with the core.

    • The present invention provides an objective-lens driving apparatus in which the phase delay is small in focusing-response characteristic and which excels in resonance characteristic in high-frequency bands. The objective-lens driving apparatus includes a movable unit that has a lens holder holding an objective lens, a fixed unit that is spaced apart from the movable unit in a tangential direction, elastic support members that support the movable unit, enabling the movable unit to move with respect to the fixed unit in the focusing direction and tracking direction and to incline in a tilt direction, a first magnet, and a second magnet that is magnetized in a direction opposite to a magnetization direction of the first magnet. The lens holder has tracking coils, focusing coils, a first tilt coil that is wound around an axis extending in the focusing direction and generates drive forces acting in the tilt direction, and a second tilt coil that is wound around in a direction opposite to the winding direction of the first tilt coil, and generates drive forces acting in the tilt direction.
