    • An electric compressor integral with a drive circuit incorporates a compression mechanism section, a motor for driving the compression mechanism section, and a motor drive circuit. A refrigerant gas chamber having a refrigerant gas expansion space, into which refrigerant gas is introduced, is formed between a drive circuit installation section and a motor installation section, by a first partition wall provided on the drive circuit side and a second partition wall provided on the motor side, the side opposite the drive circuit side. The refrigerant gas chamber is interrupted by the first partition wall against the drive circuit installation section and is communicated with the motor installation section by a through hole that is provided in the second partition wall and through which the refrigerant gas can pass. Heat generating components, particularly in the drive circuit, can be easily and effectively cooled, and also on the motor installation side, cooling of the motor and lubrication of a bearing section can be easily and excellently performed.

    • The present invention provides an electric compressor in which a lead wire on the motor driving circuit side can be electrically connected positively to a sealed terminal. Because the sealed terminal is formed from a terminal body which is made of a metal having electrical conductivity and whose end is provided with a male threaded portion, and a joining nut made of a metal having electrical conductivity and which is different from the material for the terminal body, and is threadably mounted on the male threaded portion of the terminal body, it is possible to positively join the joining nut of a different material to the terminal body and to positively join the lead wire of the same material as the joining nut to the joining nut by welding, whereby it becomes possible to electrically connect a lead wire on the driving circuit housing chamber side positively to the sealed terminal.

    • A terminal device for an electric compressor has a partition wall and a terminal member for supplying electricity to an electric motor for driving a compression mechanism. The partition wall is located between an electric motor-storing section, which stores the electric motor and in which lubricating oil-containing fluid to be compressed is present, and a circuit section for supplying electricity to the electric motor. The terminal device can exhibit high insulation performance even if polyalkylene glycol-based oil is used as lubricating oil contained in fluid to be compressed. Further, the terminal device has a simple structure not requiring a cluster, can ensure high insulation performance, and can be constructed at low cost.
