    • Disazo compounds represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen, C.sub.1-3 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy C.sub.1-3 alkyl, phenyl C.sub.1-3 alkyl, phenoxy C.sub.1-3 alkyl, hydroxy C.sub.1-3 alkyl, cyano C.sub.1-3 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxyhydroxy C.sub.1-3 alkyl or hydroxyphenoxy C.sub.1-3 alkyl,R.sub.3 is C.sub.1-4 alkyl,R.sub.4 is methyl or ethyl,R.sub.5 is hydrogen, chlorine, methyl or methoxy,n is 2 or 3 respectivelyin the form of the free acid is disclosed and these present compounds are used for dyeing of various fibre materials, leather, wood, pulp and paper etc. in black shade and preparing of black ink for ink-jet, felt-pen and signpen etc. The present compounds have high color value, high affinity and high dyeing velocity on paper and excellent fastnesses.

    • Reactive disazo dyestuffs of the following formula are disclosed. ##STR1## or --NHR wherein w.sub.1, w.sub.2, w.sub.3, and w.sub.4 represent hydrogen or methyl; Q represents --SO.sub.2 -- or --CO--; k, r, l and q represent 1 or 0; R represents hydrogen; --COCH.sub.3 ; ##STR2## which may be substituted by methyl or chloro; phenyl which may be substituted by sulfo or carboxy; or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 OH. Hal represents chloro or bromo.     • In the operation of a conventional coke oven battery, a target flue temperature for each oven group is set on the basis of details of coal charge consisting of the weight, the particle size, the moisture content, the volatile matter content and the timing of charging of the coal charge, so as to achieve a target net coking time and a target soaking time given by a coke production schedule. Then, the temperature is measured for individual flues at certain intervals of time and deviations of thus measured flue temperatures from said target flue temperature are calculated by computer, to set a flow rate and a calorific value of the fuel gas for each oven group. A stack draft is set and controlled by computer so that an optimum combustion may take place in response to changes in the flow rate and the calorific value of the fuel gas. Said target flue temperature is furthermore bias-corrected with the use of a mean measured flue temperature, measured net coking times, measured soaking times and the details of coal charge corresponding thereto.
