    • A magnetic recording apparatus comprises: a magnetic recording medium for recording a binary signal; a magnetic head for detecting the binary signal; an amplifier for amplifying the binary signal detected by the magnetic head; a channel for outputting the amplifier binary signal in the form of a timing value sequence, the timing value sequence alternately providing positive and negative peak values following the rule of the binary signal a recorded in the recording medium; a temporary judging unit for judging a presently input timing value of the timing value sequence supplied from the channel as one of the positive peak value, the negative peak value, and an intermediate value, in accordance with the relationship with a preceding timing value temporarily judged as one of the positive and negative peak values; a final judging unit for finally setting the preceding timing value as one of the positive and negative peak values and the intermediate value, in accordance with the relationship with the presently input and temporarily judged timing value; a counter for counting the number of input bits of the timing value sequence; a unit for resetting the counter when the timing value temporarily judged as one of the positive and negative peak values is output; a register for storing a decoded binary bit value; and a unit for overwriting the bit value in the register at the bit position corresponding to the count of the counter.

    • A sub-delay element has the same configuration as that of a main delay element, and applies a delay τ that corresponds to a bias voltage to a selected clock signal output from a first selector. A phase detectorgenerates a phase detection signal that corresponds to the phase difference between a selected clock signal that has propagated through the sub-delay element and a selected clock signal that has propagated through a bypass path. A counter performs a count operation according to the phase detection signal. A D/A converter supplies a bias voltage that corresponds to the count value of the counter to the main delay element and the sub-delay element. An initialization unit instructs a DLL circuit to actually operate, and sets the reference voltage to be supplied to the D/A converter based upon the fluctuation in the count value of the counter.

    • A power supply device supplies power to an image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes a load and a control unit. The load requires power, and is controlled by the control unit. The power supply includes a capacitor and a power-supply unit. The capacitor is charged by an external power source, and dischargably stores therein power. The power-supply unit provides power supply from the capacitor to the load and the control unit before voltage of the external power source drops below a threshold level where malfunction of the image forming apparatus occurs. After the voltage recovers to the threshold level, the power-supply unit stops the power supply from the capacitor.

    • An access point performing a communication with a wireless terminal performing a communication according to a predetermined wireless communication specification acquires a connection parameter required for a communication based on the predetermined wireless communication specification from a connection parameter server which can be connected thereto through a network. The access point sets an access point connection parameter in the access point itself. The wireless terminal acquires a wireless terminal connection parameter by using a communication method not requiring setting from the access point in advance and sets it in the wireless terminal itself. This completes the setting for performing a communication based on the predetermined wireless communication specification and it is possible to start a communication based on the predetermined wireless communication specification between the wireless and access point. Thus, it is possible to set a connection parameter for a wireless communication in the wireless terminal and access point without requiring a complicated setting work by a user.
