    • This fluid pressure cylinder with a lock mechanism is adapted to provide, on the lock mechanism cover, an area where valves for controlling the cylinder and lock mechanism can be installed. In the cylinder, a brake shoe grips a piston rod 6 via balls held by a retainer inside a lock mechanism cover 21 using a tapered ring which is driven by a brake spring and returned to its original position by a release piston. A cylinder port 8 that supplies or discharges compressed air to drive the piston is provided on the side of a cylinder 1 inside the lock mechanism cover 21. On the opposite side an unlocking port 34 which leads to a pressure chamber driving a release piston is disposed and a manual opening actuator 45 is provided. This arrangement is intended to ensure a flat area 48 where valves can be installed to control compressed air fed through the ports.

    • The present invention provides an extract containing a β-cryptoxanthin component from a persimmon fruit, a functional food and/or drink supplemented with the extract, and a process for producing the extract. The present invention produces the extract containing a β-cryptoxanthin component from a persimmon fruit by cutting an inexpensive raw material persimmon fruit, especially a persimmon skin, into fine pieces and extracting a β-cryptoxanthin component with an organic solvent such as ethanol. After the β-cryptoxanthin component is extracted with the organic solvent, it is preferred to eliminate the smell of dried persimmon by removing the organic solvent under reduced pressure. According to the present invention, an extract containing a β-cryptoxanthin component that does not raise consumers' anxiety even when added to foods, drinks, and the like can be produced at low cost.

    • A fluid pressure cylinder has a lock mechanism in which its entire structure is simple. Also, its assembling operation and maintenance are easy. The lock mechanism to be assembled to a body of a cylinder includes a fulcrum pin for immovably supporting a lock plate in its axial direction. A spring biases the lock plate in its tilting direction around the fulcrum pin. A returning pressure chamber is provided on the side in which the lock plate is tilted by the biasing spring and applies a fluid pressure to the lock plate against a force of the biasing spring by supplying a pressurized fluid. A sleeve is fitted over a piston rod of the cylinder for forming an inner peripheral wall of the returning pressure chamber. A pressure receiving member for air-tightly sealing a space between the lock plate and an outer peripheral surface of the sleeve and between the lock plate and an inner peripheral surface of the returning pressure chamber is mounted to the lock plate closer to the returning pressure chamber.
