摘要： A container for safekeeping an ink jet cartridge is provided with the main body of a container for storing an ink jet cartridge having a recording head unit, and an ink tank unit containing ink to be supplied to the recording head unit, a lid element for covering the inlet and outlet of the main body of the container for storing or removing the ink jet cartridge, an elastic cap member provided in the main body of the container for covering the recording head unit. This container for safekeeping an ink jet cartridge comprises a rib arranged on the inner wall surface of the lid element for exerting pressure on the recording head unit of the ink jet cartridge to press it to the elastic cap member; and a recess arranged on the inner wall surface of the main body of the container in a position corresponding to the location where the elastic cap member is arranged. In this way, it is possible to cap the recording head appropriately in the container to provide a highly reliable safekeeping of the ink jet cartridge, and at the same time, to store and safekeep the ink jet cartridges for monochromatic use and color uses exhangeably.

摘要： An ink jet recording method forms an ink jet image on a recording medium by serially moving an ink jet recording head having a plurality of ink discharge ports arranged in an array along a conveyance direction of the recording medium. The method includes the step of providing a platen having a planar section upstream in the conveyance direction and a slant section slanted downstream in the conveyance direction and in a direction parting from the ink discharge ports, opposed to an array of the ink discharge ports when the ink jet recording head serially moves. The method further includes the step of forming an ink jet image on the recording medium by ink discharge from the ink discharge ports when the ink jet recording head moves at least three times across a same area of the recording medium, a reverse side of which is supported by the platen.

摘要： An information processing apparatus for executing information processing on a sheet material using a head member arranged for information processing area comprises a head mounting member for mounting a head member thereon, this head mounting member having a position for attaching and detaching the head member to and from the head mounting member, and a mounting position to mount the head member on the head mounting member by positioning the head member with respect to the head mounting member; a pressing member movably arranged on the head mounting member, this pressing member abutting upon the head member mounted on the head mounting member to cause the head member to shift from the attaching and detaching position to the mounting position by the application of pressure given to the head member; and a contact area for the pressing member and head member to abut upon each other, this contact area being arranged to reduce slide resistance to occur in the direction different from the direction in which the head member shifts from the attaching and detaching position to the mounting position. With this structure, the slide resistance to be exerted between these members, which may produce adverse effect on positioning the head member, is made extremely small in order to reliably position the head member exactly.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus having an image recording area for performing image recording onto a recording medium includes a head holding portion for holding an ink jet recording head, a platen, and a recording medium exhausting device. The platen has planar and facial sections. The planar section supports the recording medium opposed to the ink discharge ports in the image recording area. The facial section is disposed downstream of the image recording area with respect to a conveyance direction of the recording medium, and extends in a direction away from the ink discharge ports toward the conveyance direction. The planar section and the facial section are continuous, and the angle between the extension of the planar section and the facial section is from 3.7 to 7.5 degrees. The recording medium exhausting device, disposed downstream of the facial section of the platen in the conveyance direction, exhausts the recording medium from the recording area by guiding the recording medium from the extension of the planar section of the platen in a direction closer to the facial section of the platen.
