    • In this coordinate inputting sheet, there are provided an X coordinate inputting sheet for detecting an X coordinate and a Y coordinate inputting sheet for detecting a Y coordinate. These X coordinate and Y coordinate inputting sheets are laid together with their conducting surfaces mutually confronting one another. An insulating projection is provided between the X coordinate inputting sheet and the Y coordinate inputting sheet in order to space apart their opposing conducting surfaces. Auxiliary electrodes extend substantially along equipotential directions of at least one of the X and Y coordinate inputting sheets adjacent to the insulating projection. These auxiliary electrodes may optionally pass on either side of the insulating projection, and in such a case they may be substantially straight or may be curved away from the insulating projection; or, alternatively, the insulating projection may be located on one of the auxiliary electrodes, which may be enlarged to form a disk shaped portion around the insulating projection. In this case, a one of the auxiliary electrodes lying next to the one of the auxiliary electrodes on which the insulating projection is located may be shaped as straight, or alternatively it may be shaped as bowed away from the insulating projection.

    • In this coordinate inputting system, a coordinate inputting sheet is provided for detecting an axial coordinate, and this includes a sheet body with a resistive surface laid over one of its sides, a pair of mutually substantially parallel edge electrodes extending along opposite edges of this resistive surface which are for having voltage applied between them, and several intermediate electrodes, substantially mutually parallel and substantially parallel to the pair of edge electrodes, and extending along the resistive surface bewteen the pair of edge electrodes in a mutually spaced relationship. Also, there are provided a device for processing information by obtaining voltage divided at an input point selected by pen contact against the coordinate inputting sheet as axial coordinate information, a device for storing in advance reference information relating to the voltages on the electrodes when the voltage is applied between the edge electrodes, a device for detecting which of the electrodes straddle the input point by comparing the axial coordinate information obtained from the information processing device with the reference information, and a device for determining the validity of input operation according to the result of comparison between the voltages upon the electrodes which straddle the input point and the reference information. Optionally, the reference information may include the voltages on the electrodes when the voltage is applied between the edge electrodes, and the voltage differences between neighboring ones of the electrodes.

    • A key switch is disclosed which employs a coil spring formed of a spring element and which has a smaller-diameter portion, a conical portion joined to one end of the smaller-diameter portion, and a larger-diameter portion joined to the other end of the smaller-diameter portion. The smaller-diameter portion has the spring element coiled at a relatively small diameter. The conical portion has the spring element extending coiled so as to increase its diameter progressively toward an open end thereof. The larger-diameter portion has a diameter larger than the diameter of the smaller-diameter portion. The conical portion is maintained under compression and the small-diameter portion is maintained in proximity to a contact area by elements of the key switch to provide a linearly increasing depression force for the key switch.

The image control acquiring control mechanism acquires image data detected by the X-ray sensors, and a calculation unit reconstructs an image of the examination area based on the image data.

    • Disclosed is an image processing apparatus capable of reading and processing both character data such as bar codes, optical readable letters and marks, and image data such as figures and tables by means of a single image scanner. The image processing apparatus has a parameter registration mode, a code addition mode and an image retrieval mode as operation modes. In the parameter registration mode, when a bar code corresponding to parameters related with image processing is read by the image scanner, a notification signal is outputted in response to completion of the reading. In the parameter registration mode, it is possible to determine priority to be assigned to either setting of the parameters through the image scanner or setting of the parameters through keys. In the code addition mode, a character code based on the character data is added to binary data obtained by individually reading the image data and the character data by means of the image scanner and the data with the added character code is stored in a memory. In the image retrieval mode, when character data for image retrieval is read by the image scanner, the character data is converterd to a character code. Binary data corresponding to the character code is read out from the memory by image retrieval means and outputted to an output unit.

    • An input apparatus for computers is interposed between a keyboard and the computer. This apparatus comprises: an area designating device on which a desired visible information sheet having predetermined visible information can be disposed and which outputs a designation area signal indicative of the designated area of the visible information; a receiver to receive registration data comprising the area of the visible information and the key code of one or a series of plurality of keys corresponding to this area, the registration data being sent from an external system; a registering memory to store the registration data received by the receiver; a data fetching circuit to take out the corresponding key code from the registering memory by reference to the registration data in response to the designation area signal which is given from the area designating device; and a transmitter to transmit the fetched key code to the computer. With this apparatus, by previously making a desired visible information sheet and the registration data of the sheet, the registration data can be easily registered in the input apparatus, so that the operator can easily operate the input apparatus and input the key code to the computer by designating the area on the sheet.
