    • The invention relates to an electrolyzer for the electrolysis of water in hydrogen and oxygen with a number of electrolytic cells, each containing an anode and a cathode, connected in series in a cell block surrounded by a pressure vessel. At one end of the cell block is a first electrode, and at the opposite end of the cell block is a second electrode. Both are connected with leading-in cables, which run through the pressure vessel and conduct the electric current to the cell block, the interior of the pressure vessel being filled with pressurized water surrounding the cell block. In accordance with the invention, it is envisaged that the first electrode is placed inside the cell block so as to be electrically isolated, by encapsulation, with respect to the pressurized water, and that there is a channel, sealed against the pressurized water, that leads from the cell block through the pressurized vessel to the outside. Through this cannel, the leading-in cable, which is connected with the first electrode, is led to said first electrode.

    • The invention discloses a pressure electrolyzer comprising a pressure vessel (2) and an electrolytic-cell block (3) arranged in the pressure vessel (2) and containing a plurality of electrolytic cells (4) combined in the form of a stack. The electrolytic cells (4) in each case contain anodes (11) and cathodes (12), and an electrolyte-circuit system is provided for supplying an anolyte to the anodes (11) and for supplying a catholyte to the cathodes (12), and wherein the electrolytic-cell block (3) comprises a housing (5) which is sealed relative to the interior of the pressure vessel (2). The invention provides that the housing (5) of the electrolytic-cell block (3), together with the pressure vessel (2), forms at least two chambers (7, 8) separated from each other, which constitute a part of the electrolyte-circuit system and which are defined relative to the electrolytic cells (4) by the housing (5) and relative to the atmosphere by the pressure vessel (2). In preferred embodiments, one of the chambers (7) which is separated from another chamber constitutes a part of an anolyte circuit, and another of the chambers (8) which is separated from said one chamber constitutes a part of a catholyte circuit.

    • A centering device for steering valves which includes a rotary rod (1) that is firmly connected at an endpiece (1A) with a drive shaft (3) and at another endpiece (1B) with a power takeoff shaft (4). Fine-centering is provided because rotary rod (1) cannot establish any exact mid-way centering between a rotary slide (3A) and a valve bushing (6). The fine-centering device consists of a tube-shaped endpiece (7) that is attached to the drive shaft and that bears a metal bellows (8) and a centering piece (10) that is connected with the bellows. Centering piece (10) is axially prestressed by metal bellows (8) and, via roller bodies (12) presses against another centering piece (14). Centering piece (14) is part of a bearing race (15) of a needle bearing (16) that is pressed upon the endpiece (1B) of rotary rod (2), the endpiece (1B) being connected to the power takeoff shaft (3). The centering pieces (10, 14) are provided with oblique-surface grooves (11, 13) that--when the two shafts (3, 4) are twisted toward each other--generate a centering force via the roller body.
