    • An apparatus for use in potting plants includes a tray upon which potting materials may be placed. The tray has a generally planar base portion with a peripheral edge. A support mechanism is secured relative to the upper surface of the tray and is rotatable about a rotation axis. A plate structure sized to support a plant receptacle is supported on the support mechanism for common rotation therewith. In one form of the invention, a rim extends upwardly from an upper surface around a majority of the edge so that a gap exists in the rim. In another form of the invention, the plate structure has a retaining element positioned to engage the support mechanism to resist radial displacement during rotation. The tray may include a handle. The rotational axis may be offset from the center of the tray to provide a work area for placing the potting materials.

    • A rotatable plant stand adapted to support a plant includes a base member. A top member is supported by the base by way of a bearing member so that the top member is rotatable about a central axis, and this rotation may be automated. In some embodiments, the top member has a peripheral edge that is geometrically the same as the peripheral edge of the base member. In some embodiments, the base and members have opposed cavities with the bearing member being nested in the cavities. In some embodiments, the top member has a skirt portion that depends downwardly to form a chamber that receives the base member. The base member may be provided with wheels or may be a pedestal. The top member may include a water reservoir and may provide a pot for the plant. A method of caring for the plant by rotation is also disclosed.

    • A wireless authentication system for authenticating a user before allowing access to a protected resource is described herein. An authentication device receives an indication of an intent to access a protected resource. The authentication device sends a request for a key. The wireless user device and the authentication device may engage in a key exchange. The authentication device determines whether the one or more keys obtained via the key exchange are valid and may allow access to the protected resource if the one or more keys are valid. The authentication device may request further verification of the identity of the user, such as a keyholder verification. The authentication device may allow access to the protected resource if the key and the keyholder verification are valid.

    • A storage tank includes a dome placed over an open end of a riser and secured to the riser by a fiberglass ring formed over a flanged end of the dome and a portion of the riser that is adjacent to the dome such that the interior of the tank may be pressurized to facilitate leak detection. A fillet of putty or other material that will not adhere or only weakly adhere to the riser and dome is placed over a horizontal surface of the flanged end. This arrangement allows the dome to be removed from the riser by simply grinding away a corner portion of the fiberglass ring at the bottom edge of the dome. The dome may then be reused for other tanks.In another embodiment, a domed cover is formed on an interior of the riser. The domed cover preferably includes a flat outside edge which is permanently attached to the inside wall of the riser. After the tank has been installed and tested, the domed portion is cut away, leaving the flat edge attached to the interior wall of the riser. The flat edge then serves as a flange for supporting a required pump, filter or other device.
