    • A method, a device and a system for interconnecting a multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network and an Ethernet are provided. A packet sent by a node located at the Ethernet is received, the packet is parsed, the parsed packet is re-encapsulated by means of MPLS, and the re-encapsulated packet is sent to a node located at the MPLS network, so as to implement interconnection between the MPLS network and the Ethernet. A reverse solution is similar to this. An intermediate node in the solution adopts a manner of parsing a packet and then re-encapsulating the packet when the packet is sent from one network to another network, instead of transparent transmission only. Therefore, it is unnecessary to configure a Media Access Control (MAC) address of a remote node on a node located at the Ethernet and to configure Ethernet information on a node located at the MPLS network.

    • A ring network protection method, a network node and a ring network are provided. The ring network protection method includes: receiving, by a network node, a ring network protection switching request message sent by a node that detects a fault when the fault occurs in the ring network, where the ring network protection switching request message carries source and destination node information of the ring network protection switching request message; and determining a fault location according to the source and destination node information, selecting a protection tunnel according to the determined fault location, and switching services to the selected protection tunnel, where the selected protection tunnel is a link protection tunnel of a link between the network node and a source node, or a node protection tunnel of an intermediate node on a short way between the network node and the source node.

    • A communications network comprises a first node and a second node. The communications network further comprises an unpaired switched-path between the first and second nodes. Connectivity of the unpaired switched-path is tested by the first node transmitting a probe message along the unpaired switched-path and waiting to receive a probe message response as connectionless traffic from the second node. Also disclosed is a communications network component comprising logic that selectively verifies connectivity of a unidirectional communication path based on a probe message transmitted as connection-oriented traffic along the unidirectional communication path and a time limit in which to receive a probe message response as connectionless traffic. Also disclosed is a communications network component comprising at least one processor configured to implement a method.     • A method for transmitting a Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) message of Ethernet includes: receiving a CFM message transmitted from a source node, the CFM message including identifier of a path and a connection maintenance target address; determining whether the connection maintenance target address matches address of a receiving node, and if yes, terminating the CFM message; otherwise forwarding the CFM message to a next hop based upon the path identifier of the path. Another method and a system for transmitting a CFM message of Ethernet, a node for transmitting a CFM message of Ethernet, and a node for receiving a CFM message of Ethernet are also disclosed. With the invention, a CFM message may be forwarded according to information of MAC address and VLAN ID of identifier of a path where a monitored service is located, and thus may be forwarded correctly in a PBB-TE network.
