摘要： The present invention provides a water-based composition comprising a non-emulsifying crosslinked silicone elastomer in an amount effective to decrease the amount of sebum on the hair or scalp. The water-based compositions of the present invention are in non-emulsion form. More preferably, the water-based compositions of the present invention have a suspending agent in an amount effective to suspend the crosslinked silicone elastomer within the water-based composition. The present invention also provides to a method of method for absorbing and/or removing sebum and/or styling product residue from the hair or scalp. The method comprises the step of applying the water-based composition to the hair and/or scalp. Preferably, the water-based hair composition is distributed through the hair and/or scalp, e.g., by using a comb or brush.

摘要： The present disclosure relates to methods for extraction of biomass. Biomass of most interest is that which contains biologically active, extracts suitable for the skin care market. The biomass of interest includes botanicals (plant extracts and bioferments thereof), algae (red, brown, green and red, including bioferments thereof), fungi and even animal extracts (insect, crustacean) origin. Further the use of said extracts in cosmetic preparations prepared by the disclosed method is envisioned.

摘要： A post-application expanding composition for application to hair fibers of the scalp, eyebrows or eyelashes is provided. The composition comprises at least one surfactant, a solvent for the surfactant, and a volatile agent in an amount that will cause the surfactant and solvent to interact and foam on the hair fibers thereby producing an expanded composition. The composition further contains a film-forming agent in an amount effective to form a film which when set fixes at least a portion of the expanded composition in its expanded state. The volatile agent is solubilized in the composition, and is further dispersed throughout the composition in nanometer size droplets or generated in situ on the hair fibers or immediately prior to application thereto so that the composition is storable in a non-pressurized container.
