    • The infusion unit comprises in combination : a support (1); a drawer (7), exhibiting at least one seat (8) for a single-serving sachet (C), sliding relative to the support and movable between a charging position of the single-serving sachet and an infusion position; a dispensing member (23) for dispensing water under pressure to the single-serving sachet. The unit further comprises a lever (9) for controlling the movement of said drawer and a mechanical connection between the lever and the drawer and between the lever and the dispensing member. A stopping element (29) locks the single-serving sachet (C) into the infusion position after the dispensing. The seat (8), partly delimited by a pair of arms (19) oscillating relative to the drawer is preferably interchangeable for seating capsules of various shapes or dimensions.

    • An infusion unit includes a moving element with a seat for ingredients for making beverages. The moving element is configured to shift from a position for charging the ingredients to an infusion position, where the seat is between a hot water dispensing device and a beverage outlet nozzle opposite one another. A washing member is integral to the moving element where, through the movement of the moving element, the washing member may be positioned between the hot water dispensing device and the beverage outlet nozzle for forming a washing channel. Through the washing channel, the water dispensed by the hot water dispensing device flows towards the beverage outlet nozzle.

The capsule guide comprises a pair of capsule guiding channels (464), configured and arranged for slidingly engaging a flange (Fc) of the capsule (C) and a respective capsule retention member (466) arranged at the lower end of each capsule guiding channel (464) for retaining the capsule in the brewing position before closing the brewing chamber and for disengaging the capsule (C) when the brewing chamber portions (421, 423) are moved apart after completion of a brewing cycle. Both brewing chamber portions (421, 423) are movable with respect to the capsule guide from an open position, for receiving a capsule there between, to a closed brewing position, and vice-versa. A control member (469, 470) is provided, configured and arranged for spacing apart the capsule retention members (466) upon completion of a brewing cycle, so that a spent capsule (C) is released from the guiding channels (464) when the brewing chamber portions are moved towards the open position.
